Famitsu: Demon's Souls, PS3 action-RPG at TGS
The latest Famitsu has some info on one of those nine unannounced PS3 games coming from Sony and to be shown off at TGS next week. Demon's Souls is a single-player, fantasy-themed action-RPG being developed by From Software (and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, of Armored Core fame), and published by SCEJ. Though it's a new IP, the game's director and SCE producer mention From Software's RPG series King's Field – perhaps a spiritual successor of some kind? Demon's Souls will be playable at TGS, so we'll find out then, okay?

Harry Potter called. He wants his font back.
Titanium_Orchid @ Oct 1st 2008 4:29PM
Harry Potter's text is less rounded. This reminds me of Age of Booty
Zoesch @ Oct 1st 2008 4:56PM
This is Adobe calling Marty on behalf of Harry Potter, the font is called Garamond and you now owe the Adobe corporation $56 million for thinking about it.
borland502 (SDF Macross) @ Oct 1st 2008 6:25PM
What should they have used instead Marty? Helvetica? Ariel? Since I don't see a lightning bolt impression I'd say Zoesch is right and they just have to answer to Adobe for their crimes.

haha.. look at all the people crying over such a basic comment.
Matt Madeiro @ Oct 1st 2008 3:23PM
I might be one of the few people in the world who enjoys the King's Field series.
cacaman @ Oct 1st 2008 3:28PM
Hey, that's a neat looking screen.
Mr Khan @ Oct 1st 2008 3:48PM
Seems like they're trying to emulate Colossus. Not that that's a bad thing, by any means. Certainly a sub-genre that could be expanded creatively.
Titanium_Orchid @ Oct 1st 2008 4:29PM
thats what the picture reminded me of to
Josh @ Oct 1st 2008 4:52PM
So what, will it be called "Demonlore" outside of Japan?
That stupid name change still irks me.
Mike @ Oct 1st 2008 5:04PM
Hey, I can see where I should hit to inflict massive damage!
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Oct 1st 2008 5:11PM
I am not trying to rag on the PS3 here, really I am not LBP looks fantastic!
But what is up with Sony first party titles all using that bizarre brown bloom effect on all their games?
I know Gears of War on the 360 were guilty of using it but Cliffy states there is more color on part 2.
Take a look at screens for;
Resistance(2)
Killzone 2
This game
Haze
Even Little Big Planet
Infamous
I think it might have something to do with the Sony dev kits or the actual PS3 output. I am not saying it looks horrific but it does make them all share some same qualities that I find visually fascinating.
Benny @ Oct 1st 2008 6:44PM
Chances are there's one lighting engine that is well optimised for the PS3 and so is frequently used with devs.
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Oct 1st 2008 7:11PM
That is what I was thinking too. Good point. If anyone here is familiar with the PS3 dev kits let us know!
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread) @ Oct 1st 2008 8:38PM
while i agree with you for the most part, i will say look at the most recent Resistance 2 videos, the color palette is much improved. i even read claims that it was near Ratchet & Clank Future in terms of color palette. it didnt look THAT good in my opinion, but it's certainly improved from the last one.
deaddays @ Oct 1st 2008 5:15PM
Woah. The SHADOW OF THAT thing must be COLOSSAL!
Benny @ Oct 1st 2008 6:44PM
