Free. Is there any word half as awesome in the English language? Harmonix agrees and is now accepting redemption codes for the twenty downloadable tracks that were included with the purchase of Rock Band 2 (the code is located on the back of your game manual). Once the registration information is filled out and you receive your confirmation email you get to play the game ... the waiting game that is.
Unfortunately this process is only a precursor to the tracks being made available which Harmonix promises will be "in a few weeks." When the tracks are available gamers will automatically receive an email that includes a unique code which is then used to grab the tracks from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The track list for the free content has yet to be released, however, the official Rock Band forums has a possible set list if you're eager to spot possibilities. Regardless of the track list, this could be the best "free thing" ever made available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. You know, unless you count those Nacho Libre gamerpics.

Really, the tracks could be anything and I'd be happy. 20 free tracks is still free no matter how you look at it. It's like giving away a full album download.

that tracklist you linked to appears to be fake... because some of the songs have already been released as DLC
Hot Hot Heat - Bandages for one... probably a few others

^ Agreed, nothing against Harmonix or Indie bands but those are generally the worst on the disc. This time around they're particularly bad.
Wonder if its worth registering now, seems like kind of an anticlimax if you're going to have to wait.

the ones on that list are pretty decent. I'd be happy with most of those songs.
I never knew the Haunted were that big... I loved One Kill Wonder... just didnt' realized the commercial success.

I hope a "few weeks" means just 1 or 2 :)

I think I'll wait and see what songs HMX offers. If it's only one or two songs that interest me, I could probably sell my code on eBay, buy the same songs when the are eventually put up for sale for RB1 owners, and still come out ahead.

Come out ahead what, like $2? Good luck with that...

20 tracks, at even 80 points, is 1600. I want two at 160. 1440 points > $2.

I REALLY dont appreciate the sarcasm intended there when youre 'hi hater' ing the Nacho Libre pics. They are in fact the most L337 K-RAD shizznizzle to date on the Marketplace. Just because youve never dawned the mask of a lucha libre fighter and havent felt the crowd make you soar from the top of the turnbuckle like an eagle, doesnt allow you to look down upon simple friars sacrificing for los ninos pobrecitos del monestario. So JUssss take it easy~~
