Video: Gears of War 2 gameplay, cutscenes and achievement tracker

After the break, we've embedded two new Gears 2 videos that showcase some of the campaign's in-game footage including both Hospital and Landown missions. These new videos also show off some of the missions' cutscenes so, if you're uneasy about seeing even the slightest bit about the campaign, then these vids may not be for you. But if you're adventurous enough to watch, you'll see some amazing action, mortar madness, Ticker ticking, and achievement tracker tracking. Yummy yum yum!

Have one question, though. What was that little box that popped up every time he curb stomped or had a head shot? It said, "Kick 'Em While They're Down". And the other was the head shot one.

That was the achievement tracker that everyone's so excited about. Whenever you do something that counts toward an achievement, it will show your progress to getting it.

That's the achievement counter thing... It just keeps track of your stats for the achievements.

I don't know if it's just my connection, but the videos were laggy as hell.
Sounds like it's a different women voicing Anya, though I can't really tell.

Nothing too spoilery in that, actually.
I really like how aggressive the Reavers are, dropping down to attack and then jumping back up into the air. It's nice that there will be some amount of challenge right off the bat (at least, that's how it's looking so far).

i'm not watching the video, but i noticed the achievement tracker in the previous Vid (the one showing the Skorge for the 1st time).
the achievement tracker is a great addition & should be standard in all games IMO - it was so handy in the Orange Box :) - would come in v.usefull for the Seriously 2.0 achievement :)

loving it. I had gears 2 reserved since it was first mentioned. Gamestop jerked me the last time said they would have it on launch. Never came, went to Walmart, had the Limited Edition. Snagged it up, went back to Gaystop and got my money back! The rest as we all know was history. Gosh, remember when you first popped gears in and Dom starts talking to you and you're like, "Dang, I get to play already?" Sshweet! Looking forward to Gears 2 BIGTIME! I almost wanna drive over to Epic Games (I live in Fay., near Cary in NC) and snatch it up from 'em, I can't wait!

wow.......this looks, amazing.......it looks to be more intense, the mortor is going to play a pretty big role in multiplayer(if you can use it in multiplayer), its definately bigger better and more badass....just, wow........
