Yes, I freaked out when I saw this. As excited as I was for new Punch-Out (and believe me, I was fangasming all over the place), WiiWare version of Cave Story is the greatest Nintendo news I've heard in I don't know how long. Easily one of my favorite games of all time, and saying it might even be better than Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night is not hyperbole.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't Doukutsu free for the PC anyways? So what's the point of paying for a wii port? And I am mad at Doukutsu because of the game breaking bug where I have to lift the boulder but the other robot is in bed...

Not a bug.
You have to get something from a room above that area and she will be in the boulder room.

Yeah you can play it for free, but the point is that this is a game that's WORTH paying for. Even if there wasn't new content I would buy it just for the Classic Controller and to show some support Pixel's way. I know not everyone will understand it, but I've gotten so much joy from Cave Story that I would genuinely feel bad not paying for it when I have the option.

"better than Super Metroid, better than Symphony of the Night."

hah, opinion or not, you couldn't be more wrong on this. Super Metroid and SOTN are on such a higher level than Cave Story it's not even funny... Cave Story is a great game, but not nearly as revolutionary as these two other titles.

I think the fact that a game as amazing as Cave Story was made by ONE GUY, and that it's FREEWARE, makes it awesome enough to be compared to masterpieces like Super Metroid and SOTN. Hell, even not considering those facts, I think it can still stand up next to both games. But, of course, that's just my opinion. I do love both SM and SOTN, but Cave Story... as cheesy as it sounds, Cave Story has a special place in my heart.

Also: Cave Story had FAR better plot and characters than either SM or SOTN. Feel free to argue this if you like. Still, I don't think I've ever been as engaged in a storyline or as attached to the characters as I was when playing Cave Story. Super Metroid and SOTN don't even compete on that front, for me.
