Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon coming to DS in '09

At last, some good news for those gentlemen and noble women who believe battles are best waged in a polite, turn-based fashion. Nintendo has revealed that its cherished Fire Emblem series will see a new installment arrive on the DS, sometime during the first half of 2009. Well, a new-ish installment.Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is a remake of the original NES / Famicom game, albeit one packed with extra DS content. Nintendo has promised two new scenarios, six difficulty levels, and one-on-one Wi-Fi play, along with full voice chat when playing online (and yes, online play is a series first) or via local wireless. You'll also be able loan out your units to other players via Wi-Fi -- when you get them back, they'll retain all of the EXP, etc. gained while your friends have been using them.
Would you try not to get our dudes killed, okay, hypothetical friend?

I take it by "two scenarios" they mean with and without the prologue.
Its been out for a while in Japan now and I've been playing. There is technically two difficulties but Hard mode is separated into five separate difficulties. The difficulties range from overwhelmingly easy(Normal) to pretty much impossible(5 star Hard). I'm playing it on 3 star Hard and that seems about right for me.
Haven't tried the Wi-fi yet.

I was playing Fire Emblem on the 'cube not too long ago. It is indeed bitch-hard, but at least you feel like you accomplished something when you win.

They are talking about the non-Japanese version of FE1:DS. Its been out in Japan for a while now.

Well I guess I never really expected it this year... Still hoped though. Unfortunately, from what I've seen, it doesn't look anywhere near as good as the GBA ones. The series seemed to lose something after the first game on the Gamecube...

Hell ya, online duels would be awesome, especially with voice chat. Letting friends borrow characters is interesting, I can see little kids during recess selling their characters like they did with Pokemon. They need to do that with FF Tactics Advance, I thought they did, but apparently I was mistaken

Marths not really gay due to the fact he scores with Sheeda, and nearly with Minerva and Nina.
Ike actually has a gay ending with Soren if you play Radiant Dawn

Yeah. I wouldn't jump to calling what Ike has with Soren gay naturally, but after Ike turned down a Queen, a cat-girl, and a sword-girl with a huge rack, in lieu of going away forever with his best male companion, i would definitely call it.

Shadow Dragon? They could have called it Dragon Shadow, and given it the "DS" initials that seem to be popular.

It wouldn't make any sense then. At least this title is part of the original title, Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light.

OMG FE IS THE GREATES GAME INVENTED LIKE FRIKIN EVER. THIS GAME BETTER BE HERE SOON. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS THAT I HOPE THEY KEEP GOIN WITH IKE'S FIRE EMBLEM SERIES AND LIKE PICK UP THE STORY WHEN HE GETS TO THE LANDS UNKNOWN ER W-E THE HELL HE WENT. MAYBE HE'LL FINDA FRIKIN CROCDILE BREED ER SOMTIN LOL AND THEY CAN GO IN OCEAN AND BOG AND SHIZ LOL THATD BE NICEEEE
