Here you go kids, it's the cover art for the latest Halo novel "The Cole Protocol" thanks to our Amazon.com friends. You know, the novel that's coming out this November. We're loving the red and orange color pallet the design folks chose and the amber glow off the Spartan helmet is a lovely touch. But we have to admit that we wish Joseph Staten was penning this latest Halo novel. Yes, we have a special spot in our heart for Mr. Staten. But maybe Mr. Buckell will be decent enough. We guess the book's cover art is good times, so that means the contents have to be equally good ... right?
[Thanks, B Tizo]

Wow you're an idiot. The Halo universe has spawned some good books (except the book based on Halo CE which was a bit sucky but did fill in some missing interludes). But then only adults read books instead of playing on their console every spare minute they have.

This cover has been shown for ages.
The image was shown when the book was first announced.
It was also on Halo wiki
Pointless post.

Bring back Eric Nylund, I say. He has been the only Halo author whose books have been above standard, whereas Dietz did a halfway decent job with his interludes like carbonize says, I didn't really like the other Halo book.

Agreed. Nylund has written some brilliant books based in the Halo universe. Even better are how well they tie in with the game. I mean Halo 3 features lines taken from Fall of Reach. I'm wondering where he's going with the people at the end of Ghosts of Onyx not to mention if that ending and the references to Grey Team are hints at his forthcoming books or hints at where Bungie plans on taking the game.

Have you even read the novels Dustin? I thought you had already said otherwise during the fancast.

I'm usually a fanboy of X3F, but man, you're a bit late to the party.
