I'd estimate that around .25% - .5% of gamers actually have setups that would allow them to tell the difference between lossless and high quality lossy. Even fewer would have trained their ears to know the difference, especially when gaming.

If it was on BluRay, it would be on a reviled console.

Try converting a random image to 256 colors, see if you can spot the difference.

It's the same concept. The human ear just can't differentiate between sounds THAT much.

I think it would make a difference to the soundtrack. The voices I would compress anyway for loading times.

@knight666, not at all. It's more like comparing to a bmp to a 99% jpg.

Your comparison is like comparing a midi to a lossless format.

I'm sure a lot of gamers don't give the quality of music in games a second thought, but I think the music is just as important if not more than all the rest of the parts that come together to make a good gaming experience.

Ironically, I hate games like Guitar Hero, although it does prove my point in a way. The music alone is enough to sell you all on the game, even if the gameplay is pretty much a giant mini-game.

Adorable accents? What accent? This is how words sound when they're pronounced correctly.

Whilst I'll agree that Stephen Fry just wins at the English language in general, the game will use most of our regional accents for source material.

No 9000 jokes? Joystiq you let me down yet again.

Awesome they got Zoe Wanamaker! She was really great in My Family, and her voice seems to fit perfectly with Fable. I recognise some of the others too but not sure where from.
