Watch this: Sin & Punishment 2, Punch-Out!! footage
That being said, if punching (!!!!!!!!) isn't your thing, perhaps you're open to other forms of punishment. You'll find footage of Treasure's shooty sequel, Sin & Punishment 2, after the break.

WTF croissants?
Shanoshi @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:45PM
More like why not.
Obie @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:56PM
Cuz he is a Frenchy!
BPMOmega [gamertag] @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:28PM
If Mike Tyson were in this, what would come out of him?
Ears?
bm @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:39PM
LOL BPM, that gave me a good chuckle.
DBuck_Eye @ Oct 2nd 2008 7:36PM
Here's to hoping this game is as blatantly racially offensive as the first!
Fernando Rocker @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:37PM
Nice trailers =p
Killjebus @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:55PM
Mushroom men looks interesting. Gamecock might have a hit.
Why will it take till sometime in 2009 for a game (Punchout) that should have been there from day 1 or close to it. And don't tell me development time Reggie, this is NOT KZ2, or Gears2, or MGS4, or GT5. This is a simple game with simple graphics. Were they waiting for Wiimotion Plus? Ironically the Sixaxis already HAS what WM+ will have.
Still, about fracking time Nintendo!!!
samfish @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:58PM
If it uses WM+, it'll have been worth the wait. Wii Sports and Wii Fit boxing aren't bad (especially if you've ever boxed before, you know), but the room for improvement is obvious.
That said, I actually agree with you KillJeebus. Mushroom Men looks freakin' awesome. It's my most anticipated game for the rest of the year.
Fernando Rocker @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:06PM
" Ironically the Sixaxis already HAS what WM+ will have."
You are very wrong. Sixaxis doesnt have the same precision or sensibility than the current Wii Remote.
bm @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:48PM
"Why will it take till sometime in 2009 for a game (Punchout) that should have been there from day 1 or close to it."
Haha oh god. What the hell kind of an argument is that? It should've been there from day one, why? Do you seriously think every game out there should start development as soon as or before the console is released, the release date itself only determined by how long it took to finish?
You're coming across as very bitter. You're grasping at straws, trying to find anything to knock on Nintendo for the sake of it. You're a sad little tool.
Obie @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:42PM
USE ZE UPPERCUGHT!

Wow, that looks like it could be incredibly fun.

Sin & Punishment sez: "I'm too beautiful for words."
but Punch Out!! sez: "I'm so manly i bleed croissants."
Immortal Technique PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Oct 3rd 2008 1:40PM
Instead of a simple remake what would have been cool would have been to do sort of a prequel going through the story the trainer (mac?) while he was a boxer. They could have set it in an earlier era than the original punchout.
Punchout still remains one of my favorite Nintendo games of all time and I have high hopes that this remake might be worth purchasing.
The problem with the mechanics and setup of the game is it makes it impossible to have multiplayer. Especially considering the fixed view of the characters.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:44PM
Finally. A reason to buy a Wii.
I bet there's no Iron Mike at the end though. Sadface.
DEEZNUTZ @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:47PM
Ha! You beat me to the same comment!!
Shanoshi @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:45PM
Sin and punishment is going to be some thing special I hope but Punch out looks pretty promising... as long as they don't screw up the controls.
DEEZNUTZ @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:46PM
Finally, a reason for me to own a Wii. I will most certainly be buying one for this game. Can't wait!
KeenCommander @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:46PM
Punch Out looks amazing graphically, I guess we'll have to wait and see how the gameplay holds up.
Blazur @ Oct 2nd 2008 6:02PM
Don't lie.
domgbrown @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:47PM
I wish the fighters still did those weird weeble wobble KO's that took them like 3 seconds to fall down. Also the sound effects while they were wobbling were great.
Habiib @ Oct 3rd 2008 8:31AM
It better have the same sound effects too.
Wee-wee whoaaa wee-wee whoaaa
Negativecool @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:47PM
No Mike Tyson at the end then huh?...
:(
Sadgasm.
NaeemTHM @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:51PM
Wow....both of those games are now on my must buy list.
samfish @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:54PM
Seeing the trailer for Punch-Out!! makes me quite excited for it.
But Sin & Punishment 2? Oh man oh man oh man, I can't believe they're making that! I was happy enough with Mad World alone in 2009, but S&P2 doubles the awesome next year.
StrangeBum @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:36PM
Completely agree with you on that.
The video games industry seems to have really been flourishing over the past couple of years and while my wallet hates it, dammit if I can't feel excited!
Platy @ Oct 2nd 2008 11:14PM
yes !
a treasure game with "2" on it !
the times are changing xD
Kazi @ Oct 3rd 2008 8:29AM
Actually, the times already changed for Treasure on the GBA and DS. Note Gunstar Super Heroes, Advance Guardian Heroes, Bangai-O Spirits, and then Bleach DS and Bleach DS 2nd. They're being the whore for Bleach again with a new Wii game (Bleach: Versus Crusade).
Obie @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:55PM
Hey? Why isn't the SNES version of this game not out on the VC yet Nintendo? HMMMMM?
Maic @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:56PM
Is it me, or in the sin and punishment trailer is she (he?) carrying a Glados eye in the back?
Shoop @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:58PM
I love the remake of the theme song!
JeffyP00 @ Oct 2nd 2008 4:59PM
Wow, the punch out character models look fantastic, but what is up with the rest? It's so... I dunno... dark, boring, and empty? The need to spice it the hell up!!
Divine Dirtclod @ Oct 2nd 2008 6:45PM
I was thinking the exact same thing. Hopefully it's just an early build and they've still got a lot of flair to add. *crosses fingers*

Punch Out!! Looks awesome!!
sinai @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:14PM
since when is little mac "really muscular mac"? :(
the point of the game was that you were taking this normal looking kid to the top and beating the unstoppable mike tyson.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Oct 3rd 2008 7:16AM
But compared to the other fighters he's fighting, he's still pretty skinny.
Roddie @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:16PM
Punch-Out!! is not my thing, but Sin & Punishment 2 looks fantastic, were samfish and I the only people here who actually watched it??
BTW, why can I never actually change my avatar on Joystiq? It tells me it might take 5 minutes update, but it never does anything.
Mr Khan @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:43PM
You must be using Firefox (or Chrome, possibly, never tried it), and the image in question must be in JPEG format.
If you use Internet Explorer, the change will never go through.
Roddie @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:50PM
OK; thanks. I'm using Opera, so I did (reluctantly) boot up IE and see if it made any difference. I'll grab FireFox and give it a go. Had Chrome installed but I took it off because that retarded GoogleUpdate.exe was crashing my system.
mr nimblewick @ Oct 2nd 2008 8:54PM
I have this same problem, and I've tried every browser trying to fix it to no avail.
It still pisses me off. I try not to think about it.
Roddie @ Oct 2nd 2008 8:57PM
I tried it on FireFox3 and it worked.
t3kni9e @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:21PM
I liked Super Punch Out on SNES, it was one of my favorite games by far. But this looks like a carbon copy, only it has "more pixels". Of course unlike 360 and PS3, Nintendo will get a pass, while if it were 360 or PS3 they would be criticized for making the same exact thing.
But anyway, it looks nice but it looks more like something that would be on Xbox Live Arcade or PSN Store.
bm @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:37PM
lol oh fuck you, PS3 and 360 routinely receive carbon copies or mere updates of previous games, you're just too infatuated with your big burly men with guns to notice it.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Oct 2nd 2008 9:52PM
Really? I thought it was totally ok for Microsoft and Sony to come out with the same games over and over again as long as the games look pretty. Cause you know, that makes it hardcore.
t3kni9e @ Oct 3rd 2008 1:36AM
Halo was criticized for this, Gears 2 is being criticized for this and any other game that really makes carbon copies I do not buy. I hate when games make "copies" for example Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was an exact copy of the original, but basically an expansion.
So can you name games that 360 and PS3 made carbon copies of? Because if you can, strong chance I don't own the game.
Also im not some kind of fanboy, I have all 3 consoles. Problem is the last Wii game I bought was SSBB..
Habiib @ Oct 3rd 2008 9:51AM
More pixels?
What?
Pixels =/= Polygons
SoulBlade @ Oct 2nd 2008 5:26PM
Hmm I like... though I would only be interested in Punch Out if I can press buttons instead of punching with the Wiimotes. If I missed that nugget of info in some article posted, I apologize.
