That being said, if punching (!!!!!!!!) isn't your thing, perhaps you're open to other forms of punishment. You'll find footage of Treasure's shooty sequel, Sin & Punishment 2, after the break.

Halo was criticized for this, Gears 2 is being criticized for this and any other game that really makes carbon copies I do not buy. I hate when games make "copies" for example Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was an exact copy of the original, but basically an expansion.
So can you name games that 360 and PS3 made carbon copies of? Because if you can, strong chance I don't own the game.
Also im not some kind of fanboy, I have all 3 consoles. Problem is the last Wii game I bought was SSBB..

Hmm I like... though I would only be interested in Punch Out if I can press buttons instead of punching with the Wiimotes. If I missed that nugget of info in some article posted, I apologize.

I have the same concern, SoulBlade. Years ago, we all thought motion controls were destined to become a revolutionary new standard in the industry, yet here we are hoping a new, made-for-Wii game will allow us to use good old fashioned buttons instead.

@Twee
Does anyone have to say it? Did you play the original?
Thats obviously Glass Joe, King Hippo and the russian dude (second fight after glass joe) in the original.
It even has the same exact mechanic of dodge, dodge, dodge then you punch punch punch. When you get a good shot you get a star and you then get the super punch.

WTF...same characters? Lemme guess, this is simply a remake for the Wii banking on name recognition for the sale?

SF4 has new characters and all new game mechanics. This is the same exact game redone on the Wii. SF4 isn't a remake of the original street fighter. It is the next iteration of the series. This is a remake of the original as opposed to a sequel.

of course punchout is going to have the same mechanics, it wouldn't be punchout without them..This isn't a boxing sim..
Are you just assuming its the same game because they decided to just show recognizable characters in the trailer, or do you know something I don't?
I could swear I read in a preview somewhere that there is a girl fighter too..

Too bad Punch-Out!! will be ruined by the godawful Wii remote. Just give us a straight-up sequel and shove that motion control up your ass.

As long as they put in an extra "i" in "multipler", I'll enjoy S&P2.
Well, I'll enjoy it anyway, but that misspelling is a bit off-putting.
You hear me, Nintendo? FIX IT!

Sin and Punishment looks nice, but I still can't get over the croissants.

I'm TendoMan, and I approve of these trailers.
My excitement level? 10
I need to now buy Sin And Punishment to hone my skills, and throw down some PunchOut!!(!!!!!!!!!!!!!) to get myself ready.
I cant freaking believe it.
This may very well be the best new games I have heard all year, and practically eliminates my recent waning of fanboyism for Nintendo.

SIN & PUNISHMENT LOOKS AMAZING. Punchout also looks fun... my guess is that the croissants are because the opponent is probably french lol.

It's possible but I don't remember Glass Joe being french. When king hippo was being punched we saw pineapples, glass joe had stars and the russian (can't remember his name) has birdies.
I hope they add new characters this time around. The original punch out was fun for nostaligia reasons but the gameplay was far to easy.

Was I the only one to dislike the fact that there are flying segments in sin and punishment?
Oh how I hate them for that.

Wii Sports boxing is broken and so is Wii Fit's version. Throwing anything that resembles a real punch doesn't register half the time. It works better if you just flick your wrists.
That is my major gripe with the motion controls. Tiger Woods '09 is terrible. If you actually swing the wiimote like a real golf club you go nowhere. A one handed flick of the wrist does wonders.
I can only imagine Punch Out, a game that requires slit second button presses. You'll make a move with the remote and it won't register, then you'll shake it violently miss your punch and get KO'd.
Sadly the most realistic motion controls I have seen so far are in the lame ass Game Party games.

I really hope Nintendo adds more/new boxers instead of a rehash of the same ones.

Sin And Punishment 2 looked very generic and resembeled a bad version of Lost Planet in my opinion.
