Three new cars are now available to be downloaded to Gran Turismo 5: Prologue via a free patch. Simply load up the game and the download will begin almost automagically. Included in the patch are three new vehicles, the "GT by Citroen" concept car, the Ferrari California and the Lotus Evora. These cost 1 million, 500 thousand and 100 thousand in-game credits, respectively.
A number of gameplay enhancements have also been added, including changes to the penalty system, tweaks to difficulty levels and reward balancing. Controller responsiveness, sound volume and Drift Trial races have also been improved. Sadly there's no sign of trophies. Before you run off to download the update, be aware that "rankings, arcade time trial times, drift trial records, as well as vehicle-specific quick tune settings and custom key layouts will all be reset with the new update. Replay data created before the second update will no longer be viewable after this update."
Check out the PlayStation Blog for more information on what the patch adds.

That'll more than likely be put off until GT5 comes out........as well as trophies........

Well the penalty system is as screwed as ever. I came flying out of the bend before the tunnel on the high speed ring and literally brushed the wall (I didn't even know I'd touched it) and got a 5 sec collision penalty.
Cost me 2nd place as well.
Its a joke. Especially when you see people cutting corners out completely (Suzuka) and getting away with nerfing you off the track and benefiting from the move as they gain the place.
It really puts me off playing online sometimes.

join the teamspeak group for GT5P. Clean racers, who play fair. Besides, contact is only one of the issues. Even if you are a great, clean, racer you still have to compete with the rubberbanding issues. It's the real killer.
And as for Sazuka, read my great tutorial on the subject of cutting corners:

Yeah, I do try and be clean, but there is only so much you can do with a controller, it soo much better with a steering wheel. Its just a pain to have to whip it out and spend 10 mins setting it up!
Besides, I haven't got a table for it to go on now :(
I may have to have a little game tonight after wifey's gone to bed.

They should offer a weekend sale on the digital download. I'd probably pick it up for 25-29 bucks.

I still can't believe they are charging for the GT TV content...
I actually thought GT players watching old episodes (a season or two before the current season) of Top Gear on their PS3's would only promote the show.

ok i semi take back what i said yesterday lol but if the penalty system isnt much better (havnt tried it yet) then i still wish we could have private rooms an kick option etc
but ya props to them for giving us the stuff they have been working on as i just presumed it was for the final proper version of GT and that they had forgot about us gt5p owners, which they obviously havnt

They cannot possibly forget about us. Even though GT5p is selling quite well, considering it's really just a demo, I consider it as a beta version of GT5 that we're all testing for them.
Still, I do enjoy GT5p as it is, but I can't wait to see what's in store for the final build. And that GTbyCitroen is sexy as hell, if I may add.

I posted this on another PS3 site and had no response, so im postin it here to see if this has happened to any of you: as follows
here’s a funny thing!, we were playing GT5 online lastnight around 2am uk time, just as I past the finish line in 3rd place - the guy who won sent me an ‘ingame message’ saying good race!, this didnt look anything like the normal message you get when one of your friends on your list sends a message, this guy was not on our list yet he sends a pop up message which appeared in the top right corner of the screen as the timer was counting down!, now how did he do that, there’s no game invite mode on gt5 and no messaging to each other while ingame?…..is there??, anyone else had this?

The new Criteron or whatever is an electric car. It kinda sounds like a plane taking off when you accelerate. Thats about the only cool thing about it besides its looks. Its fast no doubt, but it spins out entirely to easily. And in cockpit view its to hard to see anything directly infront of you due to the speedometer and odd shape.
I give it a 7.5/10
