Gamerscore Blog has posted another update regarding the New Xbox Experience, and this time we get a look at the newly revamped Games Store. When browsing the Games Store in the NXE, each game entry will now list every single download available for that game, handily organized into different sections (previews, gamerpics, DLC, etc). In addition to this, each game listing will also include screenshots and the "back of the box" descriptions you'd find at a retail store. So, basically, you can find out whatever you need about a specific game in a single place on Xbox Live Marketplace. What a novel idea.
Check out screens of the new Games Store interface in the gallery below.

Here's an idea... use this system to let players buy retail copies of titles. If microsoft worked out a deal with publishers, it could even offer discounts enough to make this attractive. They could even set it up to have randomized giveaways where a game someone orders might be a freebie.
Also, imagine how much less stress this sort of setup would be for parents. Instead of having to hunt down specific game titles as gifts, just buy a bunch of Microsoft points and let the kid decide what title they want for themselves. (Of course they have the parental controls turned on, right?) In a few days, a box comes in the mail for the kid with the game they wanted. It'd be like christmas every time.

Having the physical game is better though and you can take it to your friends house to play.

@Mrblonde,
Not true! I detach the HDD from my 360 and take it over to friends' houses all the time... I've got 70+ XBLA titles and a couple of xbox originals on there. Likewise when my buddy comes over to play Rock Band, he brings his HDD which has way WAY more downloaded songs than I have. The HDD's are made to be pulled off/swapped; it takes less than a minute to swap drives.
Also, I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but I've moved around a fair amount in the past few years... and I hate packing/unpacking/moving boxes full of games and dvds and whatnot; this almost more than anything else has sold me on digital copies of things.

That does actually look better. But the only thing I really care about is, will we be able to scroll the long text ourselves, or still sit and wait for it to start crawling up to read about what we're buying? Obviously, I'm hoping for the former

oh wtfever, i seriously doubt NXE even exists.
microsoft has no attentions of EVER giving this to us. they are just going to taunt it to us for the rest of all time.
this is just bad. why would you want to treat your consumer like this.
Oh yeah we could make your 360 sofrekin awesome but we're not we're going to keep dickin' you around until someone finally gets tired of this mess and hacks the system so we can make our own again.
LOOK microsoft don't make us pull a XBMC360 out on you. We've been paitent... we'll do it again i swear we will.
Either finish NXE, and quit braggin about how great it is or i will make good on my promise.

huh? you talk like this has been pushed back again and again or something. It's coming in November, which is when they announced it would be coming... and before that announcement, there wasn't any hype. Care to explain yourself?
Also, before someone can begin work on a X360BMC... they'd need to be able to run unsigned code on the 360 ;)

You can run unsigned code on old boxes...
but if you think they're gonna do a Home kinda thing on us, start doubting that, because Microsoft is a software company that works with deadlines all the time, and they know how long it takes to get a product out the door and into your hands.

I think they got to fix Live first before they give it us..
But still.., can't we have some sort of progress report.,
they got main profile, games & market place.. guess that leaves the music player visual ( a decent one this time hopefully ) or maybe intergrated media center, as it's not far off anyway.. that doesn't need the pc with media center loaded up first....
Could they be working on Avatar Villa / Abode / Digs / Barrack / Crib..? where my Avatar will sit around gaming when he's not at work.. wait.. that's me..

The old XBLM is fine the way it is I'm not going to download the new look.I don't like change in general.Change is only good when it comes to new technology or changing into a new neighborhood.

Man I REALLY hope they are incorporating new video codecs in this release, particularly "h264" and the playback of .MKV containers.
That's really the only lame part about the video playback capabilities of 360 so far.
Crosses fingers.
