The Last Remnant receives special Xbox 360 bundle in Japan
Square Enix's The Last Remnant will be available in a special edition Xbox 360 bundle when it launches Nov. 20 in Japan. The box comes with the standard stuff, but includes DVD remote, game, faceplate and soundtrack CD for around $331 - the bundle saves about $30 off the cost of the standalone game plus system.
As Microsoft reaches for the million Xbox 360 sold mark in Japan, we're already prepared for another sales surge anomaly when The Last Remnant releases late next month. We've seen Microsoft's console receive a sales spike twice recently with exclusive JRPG releases of Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery. However, unlike those other titles, The Last Remnant is not an Xbox 360 exclusive and will be available on PS3 at a later date.

That's one smart looking bundle.
Misfit Toy @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:33PM
Thus continues the never-ending journey of Microsoft trying to make a place in the Japanese market...
Dirty @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:42PM
They are getting pretty aggressive in Japan, Sony losing even one month is Japan is pretty amazing, I am sure this will have a similar effect.
Misfit Toy @ Oct 3rd 2008 5:42PM
Thank you, thank you, thank you for actually spelling the word 'losing' correctly and not saying 'loosing'. You are a rare breed my friend. A rare breed indeed.
Dirty @ Oct 3rd 2008 5:43PM
Really? Is this a compliment.... Im confused.
Misfit Toy @ Oct 3rd 2008 6:13PM
No, seriously. It IS a compliment. You would not believe how many people spell that wrong. In fact, I saw it spelled wrong just earlier today.
turkeybaster @ Oct 3rd 2008 6:25PM
He's serious. You wouldn't believe how many people are unaware that losing has only one O.

Someone that shows any form of intellect on the Internet is a rare breed.
SneezyPorcupine @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:46PM
Hey, did anyone else notice how the A/V Cables in that picture are just the basic analog cables + VGA? It doesn't have the Component cables nor the HDMI cable shown...
Is it like that in all the 360 bundles sold in Japan? Cuz if it is, there is one reason rite there for people not to buy a 360...
iFester @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:55PM
A/V cable is shown along with the power brick and power cord. There's another cable there that looks like an HDMI cable as that doesn't look standard in the NA boxes. If the lack of an HDMI or component cables are cause for a no purchase to you than I guess the PS3 wasn't worth a purchase to you either as it doesn't come with either one.

@SneezyPorcupine
-1 For that stupid comment.
Vidikron @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:15PM
"There's another cable there that looks like an HDMI cable as that doesn't look standard in the NA boxes. "
I think it's an ethernet cable.
RyGuy @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:17PM
Looks like it could be a D-Terminal plug and not VGA.
Hala Madrid!! (PSWii60 Defense Force) @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:29PM
@RyGuy
It is a D-Terminal plug
A D-Terminal connector carries a component video signal (Y Pr Pb). A device with a D5 connector can understand and display the following video signals:
D1 480i (525i): 720×480 Interlace
D2 480p (525p): 720×480 Progressive
D3 1080i (1125i): 1920×1080 Interlace
D4 720p (750p): 1280×720 Progressive
D5 1080p (1125p): 1920×1080 Progressive
I got this from Wikipedia.
SneezyPorcupine @ Oct 3rd 2008 4:54PM
@ iFester:
That cable in the back is the ethernet cable. And what I meant by not purchasing it, is if someone is comparing it against the PS3, including those cables could have meant another bonus to a potential buyer, Why include it in all other regions but not Japan?
As for me, I have both launch PS3 20GB and 360 Elite, although my PS3 is acting funny lately. Read disc errors... and I think its out of warranty by now =(
LaughingTarget @ Oct 3rd 2008 7:24PM
The cable in the back is too damned small in that picture to make any reasonable guess as to what it really is.
Emophia @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:49PM
Like the look of the faceplate.
It actually compliments the 360 well, unlike most faceplates, and it's simple.
Anticrawl @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:56PM
Yes I wish they'd release a faceplate already that matches the color and material of the rest of the xbox be it the elite or other models and have the design ontop of that. Nothing looks uglier and less uniform than those glossy blacks and whites right next to the finish of the rest of the xbox.
Red Leader @ Oct 3rd 2008 4:38PM
I'd like it if they just sold faceplates at reasonable prices.
Grendel Pr1me @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:51PM
You know, at this point, Microsoft is starting to look like the guy with a major crush on a girl, that will do anything for her, but thinks he's hiding it well.
Got news for you Microsoft... we all know. Perhaps you should give some love to some regions that are in your league. Because Japan? Japan is way out of your league, and they talk about it in the cafeteria at lunch. That's why they point and snicker.
Courtney @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:01PM
I'm not sure I agree with that. Seems more like Microsoft is the guy that the girl will make out with when she's drunk and lonely, but refuses to have anything to do with in public.
Dirty @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:05PM
Well last month she seemed pretty flirtatious. Maybe she is sick of dating the jock and wants to try someone with some actual intelligence. Maybe she wants someone who understands her needs and likes to snuggle. Someone who will read her poetry and even write some back. Even losers can become the Prom King..mark my words.
What were we talking about again....?
Courtney @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:24PM
This week, in a very special episode of Blossom: International Commmerce Edition, Japan discovers that Microsoft has a sensitive side and wonders if her values of what matters in a mega-corp have been wrong all this time. Tune in to watch this touching coming-of-age moment.

Hala Madrid!! (PSWii60 Defense Force) @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:52PM
Its good to see MS coming up in the Japanese gaming market.
Now all they need to do is to keep this momentum going and keep getting more JRPGs exclusive for the Xbox360.
xFenixKnightx @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:25PM
Awe what a cute little bundle of joy. :)
Treasure it Japan, treasure it. Its wonderful.
ExMcCloud @ Oct 3rd 2008 5:32PM
It be beatiful.... yeah it do....It be beatiful
jfrdricks @ Oct 3rd 2008 3:56PM
That power brick sure sticks out like a sore thumb.
Immortal Technique PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Oct 3rd 2008 5:05PM
They need to throw the Wi-Fi adapter in there instead of the dumb ass DVD remote.
Nothing like a company that makes you pay extra to use the shit you already own.
umm....hello??? @ Oct 3rd 2008 5:56PM
yeah, it's called CONVENIENCE.
...should Sony include a DVD remote with their PS3 since you already own one? they didn't (how the hell am I supposed to watch my bluray DVDs!?! you have to buy one separate, which is better than watching my ps3 controllers bleed battery life quickly...
Immortal Technique PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Oct 3rd 2008 7:11PM
Well the controllers function fine as a remote control for me. I just wish MS would get with the picture like Nintendo and Sony and start including the WI-FI. Either that or seriously reduce the $100.00 price point.
DigDug @ Oct 3rd 2008 6:10PM
Does it come with a branded fire extinguisher to put the 360 out when it catches fire?
WilhelmThe1st @ Oct 3rd 2008 6:54PM
HA HA HA!
Get a life you fucking troll.
turkeybaster @ Oct 3rd 2008 6:40PM
It's ironic that Microsoft can't make much headway in the land of the rising sun. Their national flag is a giant red ring after all.
WilhelmThe1st @ Oct 3rd 2008 6:54PM
see above.
Achooooo! @ Oct 3rd 2008 11:15PM
@umm....hello???
i can honestly say i have never had a problem where any of my controllers went dead.i rarely have 15 hour straight gaming sessions and when im done playing i plug them in during folding at home or when im searching the web with my mouse and keyboard but whatever i guess plugging in your controller to charge is too big of a task for you. i for one would rather built in wifi over a dvd controller. does the 360 upscale? if didnt i would gladly take the time to turn on my PS3 or hd dvd(it came with the tv) player which i sadly use as an upscaler in the living room.
Arnon @ Oct 3rd 2008 11:19PM
God I want this bundle T_T.. cmon MS.. release some cool bundles for EU/US
nastar @ Oct 4th 2008 10:57AM
The Last Remnant. Am I the only one who gets the toilet reference?
Ethan @ Oct 4th 2008 12:41PM
Display that power brick with pride.
