Vanillaware's Muramasa: The Demon Blade coming stateside
The publishing duo of XSEED and Marvelous Entertainment announced plans to bring Vanillaware's Wii-exclusive ninja-action title, Oboro Muramasa Youtouden, to the US sometime next year. The game, which will be redubbed as Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the local market, marks the second title to emerge from a co-publishing deal inked in May, following this week's release of Valhalla Knights 2 for the PSP.
Muramasa looks to continue the tradition of Vanillaware's eye-poppingly gorgeous titles, Odin Sphere and Grim Grimoire, promising hand-drawn 2D sprites and side-scrolling levels. Beyond this, details are scarce, though more is expected to be revealed next week when the game is officially unveiled during TGS.

it better keep the original language track like odin sphere for those of use who can't stand shitty dubs.

Odin Sphere didn't have a shitty dub.
Megadanxzero @ Oct 3rd 2008 5:17PM
Maybe he meant not terrible, but still pretty bad, dubs. Which aren't much better to be honest...

YAY! I've been amped for this since I played Odin Sphere. Can't wait for this one!
Nintendo should take a page from XSEED and Marvelous and learn a ting or two about publishing games in North America.....

Looks promising. It is at least something different. With the knack Nintendo has for making fun gameplay experiences I don't see why they don't branch out and try something new with some IPs.

Good news for Wii owners if it is as good as Odin Sphere. I loved that game.

Presumably it's going to be better. Odin Sphere was good and the gameplay wasn't bad, but I believe I really only had two problems with it:
Repetitive Gameplay
and
Difficulty
Not that the difficulty made the game impossible, but it was challenging that could've used a difficulty option. Other portions of the game were tolerable, but sometimes, I had to get through a boss fight TWENTY TIMES before I could figure out a decisive strategy to defeat them.
Let's hope they stepped up the gameplay for Muramasa... Even if not, I'm still going to get it. I just love Vanillaware's art style.

Can't even express how happy I am to hear this. Odin Sphere was easily the second best game I've ever played.
Megadanxzero @ Oct 3rd 2008 5:19PM
So when can we expect this in Europe? 2010 maybe? Actually that's probably being a bit optimistic... At least the Wii has some decent games coming out for it at some point though...
