World of Goo sticks to WiiWare October 13
As revealed at the end of Nintendo's second fall media summit press conference, 2D Boy's World of Goo has been confirmed for an October 13 launch on WiiWare. The stick 'em and stack 'em puzzle game was a winner of three Independent Games Festival awards this year. World of Goo is also coming this year for PC and, according to 2D Boy's website, "shortly after" for Mac/Linux.

Once again: Why does WiiWare start kicking ass when my Wii finds no internet connection?

Bomberman Blast
World of Goo
Tetris Party
More Strongbad
Cave Story
I know these games aren't all totally original, and won't appeal to everyone... but they sure look great to me! The quality and quantity of WiiWare titles has really impressed me lately, and it's only getting better.

Yeah... at the service is still relative new. WiiWare service was launched just four months ago:
I have LostWinds, Final Fantasy, Defend your Castle, Gyrostarr, Toki Tori, Dr. Mario, Megaman 9, Orbient, Bomberman Blast, Strong Bad Ep. 1, Strong Bad Ep. 2...
Pretty good games in a very short time.
And in the next months we will have World of Goo, Cave Story, LostWinds 2, Strong Bad Ep. 3, Shantae remake, the new Gradius, the new Alien Crush, Space Invaders Get Even (the one where you are the Invaders instead of the good guy), LIT, Last Flight, Animales de la Muerte.

@ nando. Lost Winds 2? First I've heard of it, LOVED the first one. Where did you hear this, or is it a rumour?

Just shut up Fernando with you constant list wars.
For people who are not complete Nintendo zealots the games are marginal at best. I will admit world of goo is a must buy for me but so far thats the only game I am even interested in on the service.
I don't care how new the service is it still is not up to the high standards of the PSN & XBLAM.

You've been really angry since all this news came up Johnny, what's up?
Immortal Technique PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Oct 3rd 2008 7:19PM
Not angry in the least bit.

I heard this isn't coming to the European WiiWare, instead they are going for a retail release, is that true?
Zak Canard @ Oct 3rd 2008 2:57PM
Yes it's true. According to this interview with 2D Boy, it'll be out Q1 2009 in Europe and will apparently have an extra chapter of levels set on the Moon.

You're joking. If this costs me £20 even, I'll be raging. It'd maybe be better to get the PC version anyway, depends on how well the IR is in the game. I know the IR can do it but depends on how well they do it.
