WRUP: Coming home edition

It's been a long time since we've had a decent survival horror game to play on the Xbox 360, so we welcome the arrival of Silent Hill: Homecoming this week. Yes, Alone in the Dark was essentially a survival horror game, but not in the "OMG, what was that?!" crap-your-pants-in-terror kind of way. We're not quite far enough into Homecoming to know if it will come anywhere close to its better predecessors, but we're hopeful. What can we say, we're optimistic people.

But what about you? What will you be playing this weekend?

Hmm weird, various sources report that the 360 version got postponed until Nov 3rd. Can anyone confirm this? And if so, also why?

Looking forward to play this game though the Official Xbox Magazine only gave it 6.5, which is a bit worrying ...

It's definitely out. I just picked it up yesterday.

According to the Future Shop in my area Silent Hill is in stock for 360. I live in Canada though, not sure where you are..

I'll be playing GTA trying to finish it in time for Fable, Fallout, Dead Space and Gears 2! I wonder how I'll pay rent this month... hmmm

I'll be playing Too Human (still). Still haven't got a single piece of Epic armour yet :o( Done loads of HoH runs, 3-4 runs, and Spider farming and still nothing....

I'm seriously addicted to that game though! Loving it!!

Playing The Bourne Conspiracy. I don't buy games anymore, due to my Gamefly subscription so I'm usually behind on my games. Just returned GTA4 (due to it being boring) and am hoping The Force Unleashed is going to show up today.

Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

:P

Ahh, my games finally got here from GF. I gotta beat both PURE and SW TFU before Deadspace and FarCry2 release! BTW, I'm about to hit the 20,000GS mark. w00000000t!!!! Hopefully by this weekend.

Well today, I started up my membership with Blockbuster and I've rented out Brothers In Arms.

(It's actually my dad's membership but since I'm 17 and the rule is 18 to have a membership.)

But after I finish that I'm gonna start on Pure and maybe the Force Unleashed...

BTW, BIA has got to be the WORST multiplayer I have ever played. So bland and plain...

I'll be playing BiA, halo 3, Force Unleashed, Castle Crashers, and hopefully Silent Hill. It wasn't at the store here on tuesday so hopefully my friend can pick it up when he comes home for the weekend.

I'll be trying to finish up Conan this weekend.

Oblivion is in my weekend plans. As is some GTA MP (I got hooked on it last weekend during the GTA Live sweepstakes), COD4, and maybe some Castle Crashers.

BIA was awesome, but force unleashed got old real quick and making you revisit locations albeit with a different layout was sloppy. I have high hopes for SH:Homecoming, loved the SH games but 4 despite being very creepy was the worst of the games and felt half finished.

I'll be playing nothing -- my TV is dead, and I've only had it and my 360 for a week. :(

If it gets fixed this weekend I'll be playing Viva Pinata some more. Probably the opposite of survival horror.

Playing LBP beta (thanks Joystiq!), Rock Band 2 and Castle Crashers.

Well, I'm attempting to play it now (for the sweet cheevos) and I do not like it so far. The ch33v0z are calling though...

The ending was really just....not good.

Also, I thought they "revamped" the combat in Homecoming? Does that mean that since you can dodge, monsters have to have 5x as much health? Does this also mean that said monsters can gang up on you in pairs of 3 or more?

That does not scream "Silent Hill theme" to me...

i'll be finishing up Brothers in Arms, only like two levels left. And then i hope to rent Silent Hill for next week...b/c after that...its all about Dead Space baby. and soon after that the holiday deluge begins.

I wish I could be playing Silent Hill, but i live in the UK and it aint out yet.
I might pick up Brothers in Arms, but I'll probably just stick to Geometry Wars 2, Halo 3 and maybe a little Burnout Paradise....oh and Rock Band (while I wait patiently for number 2)

Rock Band 2 and Halo 3. Sunday though is my birthday and I know i'm getting Madden 09 and Burnout Paradise! fun weekend ahead!

I know I'll be knee-deep within Silent Hill Homecoming, my first big game of the season. I might pop in some COD4 for a thrill, but SH has me already ensconced within the fog...

( Can I has a Robbie The Rabbit stuffed anminal, complete with blood stains?)

For those of you that may be missing me (yeah, right), I got a new day job that keeps me away from gaming all afternoons like I used to, but that can't keep me from weekend overnight Survival/Horror goodness!

I'm off to SH this weekend. I already beat it yesterday, but I was a good guy then. This time I'll be an ass just like my comments on the WoW blog.

I'll jump around between playing Mercs 2, skate., GoW, Halo3, and a few downloaded games (Uno, TMNT, Castle Crashers, MegaMan if I buy it). Too many good games and too little time.
