Tucked away in the dark, at the far back of E for All is a fair-sized Gears of War 2 booth with many stations showing off the Horde mode, and handing out COG tags. However, these are fairly normal sized tags, about the size of a dollar coin. So what's up with this image of a giant COG that looks like it could serve as Sauron's ring?
We asked one of the community managers at the GoW2 booth, and he said, "Wait... did you see this image recently? A huge COG tag that's thick and made out of metal? Yeah, there's a big announcement about that coming out. I can't say anything about it really, but keep watching the website all weekend. And no, it's not something you can buy. It's made of metal, is thick, and weighs about two pounds."
Is Epic hiding these in the world somewhere, and there's a contest to find them? Are they items you can win based on your in-game performance like those rings they added to Madden? Is it just a huge paperweight? We'll keep watching the site, which yesterday put up a blurb about COGs. How convenient. What do you think it is?

And I think it might be the same (though there is a difference in shinyness) here

I've seen this picture in the last video they put out. The developer diary thingy about the Locust Horde. It was one of those split second images you would have to pause the video exactly at the right time to see. The only reason I saw it was because I was streaming the video and it happened to hiccup right there on that frame.

I find it sad/infuriating that it's not in the collector's edition, and is extremely limited. Stop teasing us.

As much as I disagree with the sentiment I have to applaud this masterful "dick head" joke.

Wow Thrall, you're definitely in the minority. When I think of Gears of War. I think what's not to like? I think this more has to do with PC gaming being at an all time low and you're upset at the companies abandoning PC gaming. Hey, the times are changing. Consoles can now do almost everything a PC can. Last time I checked Orange Box and Bioshock are on 360. The Crysis series is overrated. PC gaming is going the way of the Dodo. The 90's are over. PC gaming is dead. Get over it.

The Gears characters are so big that IS a normal sized cog tag for them.

I thought Pc gaming was dying anyway, Seems to me the 360 and PS3 are eating into its market ( not that they have much choice with the wii eating into the rest of the console market and Sony and Microsoft unwilling or unable to take Nintendo on). I bet you'll see most PC developers moving over to the HD consoles in time.

Interestingly enough, even though it doesn't seem like it, the PC is actually the largest and most successful gaming platform at 10.4 Billion dollars. It has continually been rising because of cheaper hardware.

Yeah, not sure where this "PC Gaming is Dead" talking point is coming from lately. It's garbage.
