Yes. I am satisfied. Simply because Nintendo did everything right at that conference. Plus me having no real expectations for it, so the whole conference was a treat. I'd rather Nintendo not announce any games with too long of a wait.

Nintendo's 2009 will be dominant. That's just what I think.

I am mostly satisfied. Looks like there are lots of great games on the horizon, but I expected as much. I am FAIRLY satisfied that we will finally be able to put the SD slot to use, but will be TOTALLY satisfied if Nintendo can somehow update the firmware so that SDCH (up to 32gb SD card) can be used. SUPER stoked about Punch-Out! though!!!

Agreed 100%. however 2gb(or 4gb if you can find one that's not SDHC) should be fine for now. We'll definitely need more storage when wiiware games are no longer limited to around 40mb. (Xbla games had a similar cap in the past)

2gigs will provide you between 10,000 and 20,000 blocks.
That's enough to download every WiiWare game currently available on the Wii Shop Channel PLUS a bunch of VC titles.

That equals hundreds of dollars worth of Wii Shop Channel games, which is much more than most people are ever going to spend on the channel.

I believe the largest WiiWare game out there is roughly 300 blocks. Even at the largest size, you could still download 33 games to your SD card.

While I've been disappointed in the Wii game offerings, all the recent announcements from Nintendo and third-parties give me a lot to at least wait and see. I'm mostly an RPG player, and the future is definitely looking better for the Wii, although there's still no epic Western RPG announced yet.

I suspect that there are some people that will never be satisfied unless Miyamoto was on his knees, wearing that Link costume, sucking them off, while humming the Mario 1-1 theme.

I'm not one of those dudes. I never saw anything wrong with Nintendo's current philosophy, in fact I applaud it. It reminds me a little bit of Sega's Saturn/Dreamcast era: you're not quite sure what will arrive next, it's all a bit random, real hit and miss, but something cool always seems to come out.

I agree with the folks that said that Nintendo did pretty much everything right during this conference. I truly hope that something like E3 never happens again. I believe that Nintendo knows this as well, the backlash was heard through the internet, and wasn't ignored.

Punchout!!!(!!!!!!!!!), Sin And Punishment, The Conduit, DSi, Storage solution, etc, all 100% awesome in my book.

I was literally going to sell my Wii in the next couple of weeks, and the announcements here have made me decide against doing that. Good job Nintendo.

Really? As an owner of all three systems, -I- think Nintendo's upcoming offerings kick ass. New Punch Out? Sin and Punishment 2? Not to mention Arc Rise Fantasia and the other games shown at the conference. The other two systems have great games coming out, too, but I can't help but think you posted this comment as mere flamebait. In fact, I'm sure you did.

I love what i've seen, though as The Dom said, it's nothing to help the weak Q4 lineup (Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Chronicles are the only things catching my eye across WiiDS the rest of the year)

However, it means the first half of 2009 is just going to be one joy after another. MadWorld in January, The Conduit in February (i bet), Punch Out!! in March (again, just a bet), Sonic Black Knight sometime in Q2 (probably April or May), as well as Murasama: The Demon Blade, Disaster (if NoA gets off their lazy asses), then, if i have time, Tenchu 4 (doubtful)

For the first part of summer? Fire Emblem DS. Things are looking sweet indeed. And that's totally counting out all Play for Wii, VC, and WiiWare titles that could come along

Also totally counting out Monster Hunter 3 if they're at all speedy on getting that localized.

I wish people would stop crying about nintendo "forgetting their core gamers" we already have excite truck, mario kart, mario super sluggers, metroid prime3, super mario galaxy, warioware smooth moves, twilight princess, smash bros brawl, super paper mario, warioland shake it, battalion wars, and fire emblem. We know pikmin, animal crossing, sin and punishment, the conduit, punchout, and others are coming as well. I think Nintendos kicking ass at getting games out that arent Wii Sports or Wii Fit.

Next year we have so many games coming early 2009 like Punch-Out!!, The Conduit, Storage issue(half way) solved, DSi(ok, that's probably coming in May...), (hopefully not Fall '09)Sin & Punishment 2, Play for Wii(Hey, Nintendo, make Wind Waker with Twilight Princess controls & you'll get my $35), and that leaves most of the year unknown where more games will release and keep us happy through '09.

I am not satisfied at all. In my opinion, there's been no games of interest release since Mario Kart Wii. There's nothing I want to buy now and nothing coming out before next year.

I don't get the excitement over Punch Out and the ports of GameCube games. It seems Nintendo is only doing these games because nothing else is coming out. Yet somehow, we're supposed to be excited about Punch Out, which was okay for its time but not a widely popular game and a re-release of a bunch of games from GC that I didn't buy the first time.

B-O-R-I-N-G!

It's so bad, I'm thinking of selling my Wii and buying and buying one of the other consoles...

How can people say end of 2008 looks rubbish, we already got De Blob, Bomberman Blast, Megaman 9, Wario Land, and some regions are getting Disaster: Day of Crisis too among other things like the Lego games and Orbient. Far from weak I'd say, just because many of these are already released and we discuss this after the fact doesn't make the end of 2008 a bad time for the Wii. It's not as great as 2009 is going to be but we still got great games.

TBH nintendos conference was successful, they did redeem themselves. But! they definately didn't blow me out of the water. The show wasn't anything to flip out about and cry fanboys cries across the internet. A DS with hardware alterations? Yes. not a simply change that i've read is equivalent to the change between gameboy and gameboy color. The fact of the matter is it does take time for good third party support and new first/second party support - and that time was 2007/2008. 2007 developers caught a whiff of the wii's popularity, 2008 it was time to announce whats coming. 2009 and beyond will be gold. The fact that nintendo brought to life an old franchise is great, why wouldn't they revive more franchises? Ninty is not stupid. I have full confidence that all of their current franchises will make a return i.e. star fox, donkey kong. And we know more IPs will come, people just like to bitch when theres a dry spell. Go play your backlogs during this time, because god knows you won't have time in the future, and you all will just complain how there are too many games so you don't have time to finish others.

Extremely disappointed. There are numerous great games on the horizon, mainly rpg and games with epic storylines. However NOA seems to be left out and given next to no information or clear reasoning. I've been waiting Fatal Frame for hella long, I find it absolutely ridicuolous that could not have been released already, I mean it's not violent or riddled with graphic nudity. As for the recent games announcned, SnP2, ya cool jap title but lacks any depth or know at all for me to go hooray, I might as well keep playing Metal Slug if I want mindless killing. Punch-Out 2? After playing Fight Night 3 I don't see boxing going in another other direction, that's just me. Perhaps a re-birth of Ready to Rumble but without motion controls, it doesn't work for me. Bottom line, Nintendo needs to start coming at us, I really don't know what all these holds up are for... especially DSI, I mean 1 in every 5 homes is great, you've destroyed PSP, send the DSI here and watch people go bananas, pfff

I don't see how you cannot be satisfied. If you want the good games to remain good, then your going to have to be able to wait more than a year for the next one to come out. My god, Mario Galaxy hasn't even been out a year and your demanding more.

There are so many awesome games coming to the wii (Sin and Punishment 2, and the Pikmin). There is a new Pikmin coming and I can't be more excited. Mario and Zelda aren't the only good games on the Wii and many of you have failed to grasp that.

A new DS is awesome. I mean, after that, how can you not be happy? DSware and whatnot. Awesome

Satisfied? Yes.

Mostly because of the SD card storage issue. Thanks to MM1-2-9 I'm down to just under 100 blocks. For me that's near perfect timing (obviously for others, not so much).

As for game lineup, I'm never worried about what's up next because I've had a backlog of games to get to for years now.

I'm mildly satisfied.

While I am incredibly excited for Punch-Out!! (one of my all time favorites), it's not coming for awhile.

My real issue with NOA this year is that they're treating the Wii like it's the GBA. The logic seems to be "Well, there are plenty of games, so we'll completely neglect bringing over a large amount of really popular successful Japanese games"
(ie. Rhythm Tengoku, Mother 3, bit Generations series).

The same is happening with new Wii titles; Captain Rainbow, Fatal Frame 4, Disaster DOC.

It's absolutely inexcusable to ignore huge titles like that, it's detrimental to they console, imo. They're F-ing first and second party titles!

Over on the PS3/360 side of things, we get ALOT of games this holiday and more to come in 2009. Nintendo fans have such low quality standards. "Nintendo fans have such low quality standards"
The reason they call Nintendo fans 'Nintendo fans' is because we don't switch systems. We don't have low standards of graphics, gameplay, etc. Go ask 50 Nintendo fans, "If you could have 360 level graphics on the Wii, would you prefer them?" I bet you would find out more than 75% would say yes.
I would prefer better graphics & online, it's just i'm a nintendo fan and the Wii isn't that powerful. I do admit that if I get a job next year i'll buy a 360, but only because I want more games to play. But I may rethink that because I don't know how I can play a bunch of 360 titles on top of all of next year's great games.

To provide a fair comparison, all i can think of for PS360 early 09 is RE5 (which is a big one), and Halo Wars (which is untested waters. We could have a mediocre spinoff like Mario Sluggers, or a great spinoff like Mario Kart, we shall see)

Please do go on, because by my count Wii has more top games then both the 360 and PS3. (Although to be fair none of the companies have really announced 2009 lineups). Also, Call of Duty 6 is coming to Wii so we can't count that.

PS3:
- F.E.A.R. 2
- God of War III
- Kill Zone 2
- Massive Action Game
- Resident Evil 5

X360:
- F.E.A.R. 2
- Halo Wars
- Mass Effect 2
- Resident Evil 5

Well here's a few Wii games off the top of my head:
- Cursed Mountain
- Disaster: Day of Crisis
- Fatal Frame 4
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time
- MadWorld
- Monster Hunter 3
- Pikmin 3
- Punch-Out!!
- Sin & Punishment 2
- Sonic and the Black Knight
- The Conduit
- Wii Sports Resort

"Nintendo fans have such low quality standards. How can you not like high-res graphics, awesome online gameplay and decent controls? It baffles me."

Of course Wii users would never turn down high res graphics and solid online play, as long as the game was good to begin with. It turns out that Nintendo fans like Nintendo games. Who would have guessed?

Online play really isn't a problem. Not all games require Halo style matchmaking, and many Wii games pull online play off just as well as the other consoles.

I find it strange that you imply that the Wii has bad controls, when I would say it has better controls than the other consoles. I mean, that's part of the reason you buy a Wii. Truthfully, as a PC gamer, I think that PS3/360 has bad controls.

Now let's take a look at the games that were mentioned:

PS3:
- F.E.A.R. 2 - FPS
- God of War III - Hack and Slash
- Killzone 2 - FPS
- Massive Action Game - FPS
- Resident Evil 5 - TPS (Don't you dare say survival horror)

X360:
- Halo Wars - RTS based off of an FPS
- Mass Effect 2 - TPS

Wii:
- Cursed Mountain - Survival Horror
- Disaster: Day of Crisis - Adventure/Rail Shooter/Minigames
- Fatal Frame 4 - Survival Horror
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time - Action RPG
- MadWorld - Beat Em Up
- Monster Hunter 3 - Action RPG
- Pikmin 3 - RTS
- Punch-Out!! - Fighting(?)
- Sin & Punishment 2 - 3D Shoot Em Up
- Sonic and the Black Knight - 3D Platformer
- The Conduit - FPS
- Wii Sports Resort - Minigames

Why are you scared of variety, sir?

Also, the Wii is cheaper, and I've personally found it to be much easier to get non-gamers to give it a chance than compared to the other consoles.

Most of those games are incredibly bad. None of them will have any kind of decent online.

PS3/360 2009
-God Of War 3
-Killzone 2
-MAG
-Halo Wars
-Resident Evil 5
-F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin
-Mass Effect 2
-Uncharted 2
-UFC Undisputed
-Prototype
-inFAMOUS
-Legends Of Wrestlemania
-Spinter Cell: Conviction
-H.A.W.X
-Raven Squad: Operation Hidden Dagger
-Call Of Duty 6

"I guess just didn't make this system with me in mind."

I can't comprehend how that even makes sense. I've been playing video games for almost 20 years now and there isn't one single console without games that I enjoy. Even Virtual Boy and Sega CD have amazing titles to offer.

"I'm not interested in a single game on the upcoming title list."

That's 22 titles, spanning about a dozen genres. So, either you aren't interested in RPGs, FPS, Action, Adventure, Puzzle, Arcade Shooters, Racing, Strategy, Horror, Survival, Platformers, and Point and Click Adventures....or maybe you haven't honestly looked into each of the titles.

I apologize for being a bit harsh before. But please do yourself a favor and read up about some of the GREAT new games for the system you own. I promise you won't regret it.
