New games this week: Fracture edition

LucasArts' big farewell to game development continues this week with the release of terraforming actioner Fracture. Is it as exciting as a terraforming motorcycle? It is not. But if you're looking for action this week, it's pretty much the best you're going to do.

If you're a sports fan though, you've got a double dribble of b-ball action with NBA Live 2009 and NBA 2K9 (thank goodness they're in the same week too, because we just used up all of the basketball lingo at our disposal). Check out the full list after the break.

I was considerng getting Fracture, just because LucasArt, but it received a 5.9 from IGN, so I pass.

I will better get some MS and Wii points...

I was looking forward to it too, until I played the demo.

Wow, do you listen to everything a gaming website will tell you? Get a mind of your own.

I hated the controls but deforming the terrain was fun, reminds me of populous but I wouldn't play that game online.

Not bad ,not good either and really what’s up with using the analog stick button to Aim? I hated it in Halo and I still hate it.

Tip:Buy Silent Hill Homecomming.Best SH since 3.

Yezzir, Dead Space next week fo sho! I'm almost finished with PURE (which is crazy fun and looks gorgeos btw) and I'll get to finishing SW: TFU by this weekend. Then I can get my space mutant killing on.

Thats a tricky situation but Black culture through out history have always had a problem coming up on its own and getting rid of its destructive nature because everything we have that is or was positive is takien away....i.e. Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and many other pro black supporters...And they are all eliminated by THE WHITE MAN...Then things that are created by Black culture like Hip-Hop white people take immediately and flip it to make sure we can't call it our own. Now hip-hop is Rap music and is a form of POP so it doesnt give the pro black message anymore....That's all because of the WHITE MAN

Yours is easier THE WHITE MAN put drugs and firearms in the inner cities....Poverty and drug use lead to violence...With this in mind THE WHITE MAN can create a sense of Fear and hatred for the minority communities and make us look like Junkies and killers. it's more like a triple double with ps3 getting 3 basketball games and 360 getting 2. i understand though since double dribble is all the lingo you know and was a fun basketball game back in the day.

I like adventures games, but I haven't played any new adventure games (well, only the Telltale games)...

Sorry, I forgot my Irony Font. I can't imagine trying to go to a game retailer and pick out a game without first consulting reviews at this point. Its an avalanche of shovelware.

I appreciate and love the feeling of successfully overcoming chronic diarrhea too, but that doesn't mean I want to experience it everyday.

I thought it was decent enough, but just really generic, it felt like I had played the game before and there was just really nothing compelling about it, I couldn't even finish the demo.

The terrain modifying may have been good if it were more freely used, instead of only being able to use it in specific spots. As it is, it's nothing that couldn't be done using RPG maker.

So very true Deeznuts420, but you do have a small smidgen of mental persuasion. No one ever seems to let loose when they're taking a bath. Everyone has at least that bit of self control.

I'm with you in that i just play games for what they are, not for what critics say.

Most of my purchases of new IPs (or IPs i've never tried before) are based on gut instinct and fun factor, a lot like how casuals buy up their games. However, in my case, it's lead to an aversion to cinematic play styles and most Western RPGs, which in turn explains my apathy towards the ensuing Epic Fourth Quarter of 2008 lineup, except for the more "fun-based" Left 4 Dead, Mirror's Edge, and LBP.

Yes! Not only are you limited in where you can use it, but they also point out where to use land deforming abilities and which ability to use. I don't need the game to hold my hand the whole time. Let me figure it out on my own. Like you I couldn't even be bother to finish the demo. I actually enjoyed Haze more than this game.

Khan and Jack, why do you assume that everyone here is so far below you in the gaming food chain just because they aren't interested in this game. The demo turned people off, why assume its just critics. I know Khan talks down to everyone for anything they opine, but Jack, I'm kinda surprised by the comment from you.

the demo was ok, i really like that it was in third person. nothing to make me want to pay full price and have to play now

I never assumed i was anywhere on the food chain, and i don't care one iota for this game (having never heard of it)

I'm just being me, and certainly not talking down to anyone. Don't put words in my mouth.

I'd pick up the PC version of BiA:HH, but with FC2 on the way and money tight..
