Xbox 360 players planning to lace up in Lara Croft's skin-tight boots this November can look forward to a double helping of new content even after the final credits roll by. Eidos announced that it has inked a deal with Microsoft to release two additional chapters to Tomb Raider: Underworld, offering some six additional hours of raiding tombs, or at least what passes for tombs these days.
The first bit of DLC, ominously titled Beneath the Ashes, will debut this Christmas, adding a new area and enemies as well as a continuation of Underworld's story. The second, dubbed Lara's Shadow, promises "a new kind of playable character," leaving us wondering if Lara been drinking from the Phazon pool again? Eidos bills the new content as "exclusive" to Xbox Live Marketplace, though we'll at least try to feign surprise should similar content make its way to other platforms as well.

I fell back in love with Tomb Raider with Legends, my biggest complaint before that was the controls and I think they did a good job of addressing that in that game.

Please man, you are just doing the typical MS hate crap you do. You can get the game for the PS3 if you wanted it, but it makes no sense to not get a game because it will have DLC on another platform.
I doubt you feel the same way about MGS content...wait, I know you don't feel the same.

What about my comment makes you think I'm kidding? The ratio of GTA4 360 sales vs. GTA4 PS3 sales was smaller than the ratio for other big multiplatform games, when given the exclusive DLC it should have been much larger.
Disregarding Wii/PS2:
GTA4 had 57% of its sales on the 360, 43% on the PS3
Cod4 had 64% of its sales on the 360, 36% on the PS3
Madden had 62% of its sales on the 360, 38% on the PS3
GH3 had 69% of its sales on the 360, 31% on the PS3
Rock Band had 70% of its sales on the 360, 30% on the PS3

I see your point Vcize, but to be honest im glad its done...
Its spurs on competition, but yet Sony at this time is comming off to me as very niche! LBP is great, good good, Home..."its like c'mon" ...Titles like this are not going to have a knowledgeable gamer shell out money for a system. (It can and will but, wont be commonplace i.e: "LBP comes out tomorrow, i need to get a Ps3 asap!.
**Raises imaginary beer at work, Cheers!** Heres to Sony in surprising me!! May God of WarIII be out on X Mas Day... (pfft)

Guess its all about what rocks your boat Well fed, you may call it niche, others will think differently, either way, this should help TR sales on 360 one would believe.

Well, some people bought GTA4 for the 360 mostly because of the exclusive DLC
and you saying that it didn't have any effect on sales its just not right.
Maybe it didn't do much, but it helped sell more copies on the 360.

I'm not really a fan of this exclusive DLC trend, I own all three systems, but it feels like a poor attempt to convince me to buy the version for that platform.
Then again I'll be getting the PS3 version of Mirror's Edge now, and I'm definitely getting the 360 version of Fallout.. So I guess it works, I just wish they wouldn't do it.
I think it would have a greater impact on the sales though, if we had some idea of what the content might be. We STILL haven't heard anything but rumours about GTA IV and for all we know here this could be nothing but a costume for Lara with a 360 logo on it.

I think MS is going for DLC not becuase it persuades gamers to buy the 360, but because its greater RoI - your engine and core gameplay is ready so you dont spend much, while you can rake in a lot of money even if the DLC is priced at say $15.
Honestly, if MS had any interest in exlcusives they wouldnt let go of Bioware, the makers of PGR and Ensemble. Of course they spending a lot of JRPGs, without much effect

If RoI is your main concern, why make it exclusive? Wouldn't that be kinda counter-intuitive if you spent so much porting it already, then spent so much time and energy creating the content?
The investment to port already created content to an already ported engine is incredibly minimal, and would probably yield a fairly high return.
The payoff for exclusivity would have to be greater than the potential benefit of porting the DLC, otherwise it would be a bad deal.
