Anybody else ever play Star Wars: Rebellion? I loved that game. I still play it from time to time.

Jedi Knight 2, X-wing vs Tie Fighter, Republic Commando, and I for one enjoyed Force Unleashed, if for no other reason than because I got to rip a Star Destroyer out of the air with my bare hands. It felt GOOD. Oh, and Knights of Teras Kasi. Shut up, it was awesome and you know it.

New Star Wars game in the hands of BIOWARE? SIGN ME UP!!! I loooove WoW with a few 70s but if this was to be as good as i hope it'll be, then I'd just have to divide my time up then..

All the talk about a KOTOR MMO is just smoke and mirrors to hide the fact that LucasArts is licensing the rights to their adventure game catalog and Bioware will be bringing out sequels to them all.

They're even inviting Massively instead of Joystiq just to further throw people off the trail.

I would love a new non-MMO Kotor, since I'm just now playing the first game and I'm loving it. If they could make it a lot like the first one but get rid of that idiotic 1995 battle system (with the dice rolls and all that shit) it'd probably be one of the best games ever.

Hmm, I wonder what it could be?
Seriously, at least they are finally getting it out of the way and announcing it, because it's about damn time. I just wish that it wasn't an MMO, because I loved KOTOR but I don't like playing MMO's.

it really shouldn't be vauge. Come on, on one hand there's all the evidence, rumors, and even basically that confirmation John Riccletto. If that weren't enough, the pictures look almost exactly like the final level in KOTOR 2.

Though I won't probably won't play it if it's an MMO, I would count on BioWare to make a great game. It's not really that they're particularly consistent, but that, with the possible exception of the recent Sonic game which I admittedly have not played, they're on a steady uphill climb towards excellent game design.

While KoTOR was decent (D&D rules ruined the combat and insurmountable oceans of dialogue ruined the story), Jade Empire was great and Mass Effect was simply stellar. BioWare a member of the rare breed of developers who actually learn from their mistakes and progress with each release in sophistication and game design.

I cant wait for this, I love Star Wars so much, especially KOTOR. I'd still rather have a single player sequel, but I'm still going to be incredibly excited for this as an mmo

Well, it'll undoubtedly be good.
Cause if BioWare can make a good Sonic game with Big the fucking Cat in it...Then they truly can do no wrong.

It's the KOTOR MMO.

It's been talked about for years, and BioWare itself has let a few things slip about it, too. Apparently, LucasArts didn't let SOE renew their licensing of the Star Wars universe (meaning that, finally, SWG will die the death it deserves) and pretty much seconds after that announced that it was teamed up with an Austin MMO publisher.

BioWare, not weeks before, just announced that they had set up a new MMO office in Austin.

MMO's shouldn't require joining an uber raiding guild or a huge time investment to fully enjoy. I would like a game where I can further my character little by little over time without 4+ hour play sessions and have a good social experience and continuous flow of new content which a MMO can provide. The problem I believe is the way these games have been designed thus far, most of them do require such time investments in order to maximize the experience and fully develop your character. Hopefully, if this indeed is a MMO, it will offer something new and different instead of more of the same... a WoW/EQ type clone if you will.

Though dated, Ultima Online didn't require a huge time investment, areas of the map and gear weren't exclusive to certain groups of dedicated players. Its interesting that no one has really tried an Ultima 2.0... Oblivion comes to mind but it's not a MMO of course, same basic style of progression though. Many of the latest and greatest MMO games seem to be built on more of an EverQuest type architecture. Hopefully the post-Warcraft future of MMO's will bring positive changes.

When I think about how they've spent so much time on this possible/likely MMO, and think about how they COULD have instead been working on marrying KOTOR to Mass Effect's graphics...

...I could just cry.

Will the awesomeness of Bioware overcome the suckyness of Lucasarts?

KotOR - all the good stuff + monthly fee = KotOR MMO.

Because the last Star Wars MMO game fared so well. And we ALL know that Lucas Arts is SO GOOD at making games nowadays. I think the real question is who is going to be in charge of the MMO after BioWare develops it? Bioware has almost NO online experience (other than Neverwinter Nights whose online components were strictly home server, weren't they?), and Lucas Arts games have been pretty average to crappy.

I think an MMO could be pretty cool, I was very excited about Galaxies after reading about it, it has some very cool features and a lot of really neat ideas, unfortunately it was all handled so badly and the core gameplay just sucked.

Seeing a developer like Bioware incharge could certainly lead to some good things, and if me and a friend can play right through a KotOR-esque MMO as a Jedi Tag Team, then I'm definitely excited.

Less so about the monthly fee, it's about time someone stands up and tries something different, I won't be playing it for as long as there's a monthly fee, even if it turns out to be the single best game ever made. And I'm 21, and have a well paying job.

Kotor MMO with the hopes that the brand recognition and solid developer can stand up to Blizzard.

Doesn't look like they'll be bringing much of the Kotor crowd though.

Please let them shut down Star Wars Galaxies to run this fully. SOE totally screwed the pooch with Galaxies, but I feel BioWare will totally own face with KotOR MMO. I think this could really give WoW a run for it's money (finally, so tired of that god awful game).
