OK, so notorious over-promiser Peter Molyneux did stop short of guaranteeing that the soon-to-be-released Fable 2 would actually receive downloadable content. But he did tell VideoGamer.com that Lionhead would be "pretty dumb" if it wasn't planning it. In case you don't speak Molyneuxese, that means he wanted to wanted to tell them all about it, but his PR handler had his hands around his own throat, making the international sign for "I'll choke you to death."
So, what can you expect from the ephemeral content? Molyneux explained he wouldn't "want it to be just a whole load of new weapons and armour," and that it would be nice if fans "didn't have to wait months and months for it as well." Here's hoping the PR guy leaves the room for a smoke soon so we can find out what Pete is planning.

He's right, we shouldn't have to wait months and months because it's obviously already planned, and it should have been included in the original game disc. DLC is such a consumer rip-off.

I believe that people won't have to wait forever and ever for the DLC. After all isn't that how we're getting our online co op? Day 1 DLC for the loss!

"Thank you for opening my eyes with your brilliant and well thought out insight."
Well, he's just distilling all the psuedo logic and fan fueled passion into a succinct statement. Doesn't 97% of all opposition comment on a thread boil down to "it will fail"? I suppose if you want to interject honesty you'd add the coda, "because I want it to."

"Add-on" DLC hasn't materialized its promise yet; it's all variations on horse armor. I'm glad I purchased Mass Effect on the PC, because while that sky campaign was enjoyable...it was not worth money after forking out $60.
Still, there is hope. I haven't played Burn Out, but I understand the addition of bikes was significant and free. When your main goal is to keep me from marching to Gamestop...don't charge for it. And if it's significant enough, make the expansion capable of standing on its own without the main game. (e.g. Rachet and Clank: QfB).
It's like consoles took the lessons of PC (expansion packs are good $$$), but decided that even the equivalent of a Sims Stuff pack provided too much additional value.

Do we really need confirmation that a first party title on the 360 will have DLC?

I know this game will be huge, as in ++++ hrs of playtime, yet I hope some of the DLC includes a few more quests???

How much you wanna' bet that the DLC ends up being the "exclusive" dungeon and armor/weapons from the LE eliminating the last waning reason to pay extra for it.

Yeah, that's a good point, I'm just feeling rather pessimistic about the way that whole thing has been handled.

Make sure you actually get the "sorry we're shipping the game without hyped features" patch out before you start thinking about things to sell us, Peter. You're the founder of one of the least reliable studios; put effort into extra nickel-and-dime crap AFTER you've shown you can follow up on your original promises.

Lion's head has set us up perfectly for either a HUGE expansion pack or even a Fable 3. you have a blind gypsy - seeress named theresa, just like your sister in fable 1, so lets say she "is" the original hero's sister, who found one of the "live forever" health potions made in the old kingdom, and she uses the tower's powers over reality and life and death to bring back oakvale, and give your hero all of the original hero's memories, etc... then you have to deal with the negative side effects of reviving oakvale - such as maybe all of the bandits and other evils are also brought back, and are super-powerful, or the burst of magic that brings the city back also awakened a whole new evil, etc.
If you play through fable TLC, then fable 2 in short succession, you will notice just how many "loose ends" Lions head has to play with. there is just so much left unanswered that there is no way they are not planning either a fable 3 or a massive expansion pack, complete with a line of quests at least as long as the main quest line from fable 1.
