The answers turn out to be some things we've heard about before, like the fact that she can now pull herself up onto poles and balance-walk them. The real treat of this trailer is seeing the latest animation pass in action. While Lara has been completely motion-captured for the first time in this outing, there's still a lot of work that's gone into hand-tweaking her 2,000-odd animations. We think the results look pretty darn great – if just a little too quick for natural human movement – compared to her animation in earlier builds. What do you think?

Great games play off of each other, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Gears of war took its over the shoulder camera from Resident Evil 4 and now Resident Evil 5 is making it's aiming work more like Gears of War... around in circles we go, hehe.

Yes, because we all know that Uncharted drew zero inspiration from Tomb Raider.

@Ihavepants
no one is saying its didnt....
what i was saying that it feels like uncharted was that it was smooth to control the main char
i played a few old tomb raider games and i hated it for the controls
but this new one looks like its very smooth.. like uncharted was
and im sure they grabbed some ideas from tomb raider.. just like im sure tomb raider got some ideas from Indiana Jones

thats why i said OLD tomb raiders.... but i did play this one tomb raider... i forgot the name for it... i had it for the computer... well you started out in an ally way and you had to climb up the ladders on the side of the buildings.... the controls were sooooo damn bad for that i took the game out of my cd drive and threw it out of the window...."it was free".... maybe you know the name of that tomb raider?

Wow, if they are going to show off a feature suhc as animation they better keep up to what the bar has been set.
Uncharted beats the crap out of that "snap to new pose" animation sets for Lara that I see here.
They got a lot of work to do.

Personally I'm still preferring the environments over her animations: I just don't buy it as credible.

I'm so sick of the "LOL ITS UNCHARTED" comments. this is crystal Dynamics adding to what they did with Legend. This is simply the next step up from Legend.
Guess What!? Legend came out a year and a half before uncharted. Now please take your trolling and fuck off.

Still looks really quirky to me, if not 'quirkier'... Each animation looks fine, but as with all Tomb Raider games, they just dont fit together very well.
From jumping, to grabbing, or climbing up a wall then stopping, it just looks funny with the animation transition.
Still, it looks great, and it wouldn't feel like Tomb Raider if Lara didn't have these funny quirks. Looks good otherwise!
