Qore Ep. 5 available on PSN tomorrow

Did you buy the subscription when it the service was first announced? If not, then you should not have received a beta code.

That isn't true I bought the episode of Quore two days before the Socom beta and got my code.

I would never purchase Quore again, I don't like this thing about paying for demos.....late demos at that.

i bought qore on DAY 1... FULL YEAR SUBSCRIPTION... go look at the PSU forum, lots of people who got a full year like me on day 1 never got their codes. better not happen again with the resistance2 beta or im calling sony until they refund me.

You're right, it is weird to charge a monthly fee for online play.

Online play: sure LIVE is supposedly the end all be all of Online communities, but the PSN is very comparable and more then serviceable


I bought Qore on Day 1 and i have to say, i am not dissapointed in the least. the 1st episode wasnt the greatest but they have progressed nicely.

3 bucks? lucky bastard, you only had to pay 36 dollars a year for live!

phil- yeah xbox live is $ 38 per year when purchased on amazon.com, some of us have learned to save $ 12 a year on the cost, which is approx. 33% less than the $ 5 per month microsoft charges direct.

downloading 1 GB of data takes me much longer on the PSN than it does on xbox live. I have even tried downloading the same demos on each console. + the installs add more time.

d-average- since when did sony and nintendo offer free DLC, free themes/pics, free games, extra demos, inside xbox, cheats,tips, community support, as part of their FREE online experiences.??

nintendo doesnt offer themes, but sony has all their themes/wallpapers for free. and nobody can sony/nintendo offers game DLC for free... but MS charges for gamer pics AND themes... sadly i was one of the idiots who bought a few themes before. but that was because MS's stupid point system, i had points left, and I didnt have any other game i wanted at the time.

ironic, i just posted that MS charges for themes, and sony doesnt, then i see on the PSBlog that starting tomorrow sony is charging for "premium" themes... sad. oh well atleast PSN is still free to play online.

well time to eat crow, SONY just announced that they will charge for some premium themes.

but at least there are still ways to get free ones

Tmac, LIVE has the better service, but I still wouldn't pay monthly for what I'm accustomed to for free. That said, they streamline and collect it all otgether.

You can also go on several websites with your ps3 and download custom themes people made all for free. Some of them are really good.

First of all, I hate that BS of "exclusive" betas and demos for Qore subscribers... I'd never do that because it's like I'm paying for a demo and adverts! Also, Qore should be free, or at least a hell of a lot cheaper. You could buy episodes of Attack of the Show, which is technically the same thing for $1.99, and those are a hell of a lot more entertaining.

Can't we all just agree that these things should be free no matter what system you're on and stop pretending we like getting shafted on our console of choice?

Secondly, the free themes argument still applies. I want themes but I will NEVER pay for them. That's retarded. Sony's going to sell them now, and that's lame, but so what?! Their themes always suck anyways. The reason PS3 themes are cool is because people can make their own. They're still free, and there's a huge variety to chose from (not just PS3 or game related).

Sounds like a networking issue. You might have some ports blocked which PSN uses but Live doesn't. My downloads are ultra fast. I downloaded the LBP Beta a couple days ago. It was just shy of a gig and took 2 or 3 minutes to download and install. I downloaded Burnout Paradise before that, which took about 5-10 minutes (I think it was around 4.5GB). I can start watching movies from the store 10 seconds after I start downloading them, and I get no buffering. Another thing to consider is if you're using 802.11, could be interference... plus it's way slower than Ethernet anyways.

lars- i use a wired ethernet connection for my ps3, 360, and pc and i have set up my router to support the gaming ports that had to be open for the ps3, 360, and my pc.

The fact is that PSN is slower than Live for myself ( as i have tried both using the same connection at my home)

do u compare psn and live downloads? or only psn downloads?

While paying for demos and ads=not cool, I might pick it up for the same reason. That game looks pretty damn sweet.

I dunno if 25 a year is worth it but paying 3 bucks for the episode you want is way better. I've literally JUST found out that Qore comes with exclusive themes on the games they feature, so I don't mind dropping 3 dollars for a Dead Space or FALLOUT 3 theme or something. Hell, I might even buy episode 5 tommorow.
