For me, the most exciting announcement was probably Sin & Punishment 2; it's great that they finally gave Westerners the original game via the Virtual Console, but really, that game was designed for the N64 pad and can't wait to see what Treasure can do with the Wii remote.

Club Nintendo has the potential to be great but it remains to be seen whether it will follow Japan's amazing offerings, or Europe's dismal fluff - like charging people desktop wallpapers.

The Nintendo DSi is disappointingly similar to the the DS Lite although in a way I'm glad I won't feel the need to upgrade now. The SD slot can offer some interesting possibilities but the camera I find somewhat unnecessary but ultimately, it's the news that these models will be region locked for downloads and DSi-only titles that is the most off-putting aspect. If I ever end up buying one, I just hope the SD slot will have been exploited by then to offer a region workaround.

I think the Wii storage solution is nonsense; it has taken them this long to offer us the ability to save and load directly to and from the SD slot, but why hasn't this been available since the system's launch? And why is it going to take until Spring from them to implement it? We should've had this option as well as SDHC compatibility out of the box, there is no excuse. As for a real storage solution, to me it's obvious that Nintendo are still trying to think of a way that is the most profitable for them, because if they really cared about solving our woes, there are 2 free USB slots that could be instantly opened up for Mass Storage to allow flash and hard disk drives. What we will probably see is some sort of proprietary, overpriceed, glossy white hard drive.

I'm not sure how popular their announcement of Wiimakes was, but I'm actually really looking forward to some of them. I never played through the first 2 Metroid Prime games because I hated trying to play with a control, and after Metroid Prime 3, there's certainly no going back. After the experience Capcom gave us with the Wii version of Resident Evil 4, it's clear that there's plenty of potential that can be fulfilled. I also never played through Pikmin, but obviously the IR remote should offer the perfect control scheme for this series as well. The remakes that interest me less, happen to be the Gamecube titles that I've already played through, but moreso because I don't think that the Wii has anything new or beneficial to offer. The control schemes in the likes of Mario Tennis and Mario Golf have always been incredibly tight and to throw all that away and replace it with simple, dumbed-down waggle mechanics that we already have on offer in Wii Sports, seems like a real step back. I've already discussed this in the comments sections of recent articles, but really, the best (and probably also the cheapest) option for Wii owners interested in these series, would just be to pick the Gamecube versions; they're perfect as they are.

"I think the Wii storage solution is nonsense..."

Agreed, especially with the part about SDHC. It's not like SDHC wasn't around when the system was designed. At least the Wii has USB ports. Maybe someday Nintendo will actually make use of them. What would be ideal is if Nintendo opened up the system to any USB based storage medium (flash drives or external hard drives) and integrated this storage with the system memory. It seems like it wouldn't take anything more than a firmware update to accomplish this and it would vastly expand the possibilities of what could be accomplished in the Wii.

Gosh, I dunno. I guess it'd have to be the storage solution. I've been begging for this forever, but seriously, CN and the DSi, along with Mario & Luigi RPG 3 and Punch-Out all are fighting for second place.

Punch-Out, oh my god i seriously almost cried when it was announced. The NES game has some of my fondest childhood memories associated with it, and I'd love to go a few more rounds as Little Mac.

If the Wii version isn't good, people will die. That's not a threat, it's a promise.

I'm excited for Another Code R, as I really enjoyed the first one, and thought there should be a sequel, though wasn't expecting one. I wouldn't have expected it to be on Wii, either, but from the short clips that were shown, the style of the game has translated well to 3D. Fingers crossed it'll be a good game.

I like that we're getting re-makes of Metroid and Pikmin AND a new Pikmin.

Punch Out is great, but combined with this news there's a lot to be excited about in 2009. I bet we'll hear about another killer title for 2009 before the year is out.

I'd say that it's close between Club Nintendo and Punch-Out!!. The Gamecube remakes are a nice idea too but I don't know that I would re-purchase games that I already own just for the new controls.

Punch-Out. Not just knowing it's coming, but seeing screenshots and video that make it clear that they know what they're doing with it.

Club Nintendo has to be the best reveal from the show! Why games can't be played off of the memory card, is beyond me. Copying games back in forth, is not a storage solution, it's a poor effort to satisfy gamers. The BIGGEST thing that still disappoints me about Nintendo, is: If you delete your Wii Shop channel, break your Nintendo, you are not 'supposed' to be able to get your games back. THIS is the biggest LIE from Nintendo. They give customers the WORST attitude when you call them. My Nintendo broke a few weeks ago, and I returned it to Best Buy, because I purchased a replacement warranty for it. Not knowing the trouble I was going to get from Nintendo for this. They told me there was no way to transfer games to my new console without sending the old one and the new one to them. They wanted me to go back to Best Buy and ask for my old system back. I told them it had been days ago since I returned it. I then received a call from them stating to delete the Wii Shop channel off my console, and that I could re-download the shop channel in two days. I did this and all of my games that I PURCHASED were again available to be downloaded again. Why they can't do this in the first place and find a way to DE-AUTHORIZE the old console, if they are scared of having two copies of the games floating around, is beyond me. I commend Microsoft and Sony for not being so ignorant and coming up with anti piracy solution when a game needs to be downloaded to a new console. I am a Nintendo fanboy, but I seriously doubt I'll spend any more money in their online shops because of their ignorance in fixing something with a simple solution. Done venting!!! :)

Club nintendo made me say OMG

but my favorite is 'play on wii' I can't wait for Wind Waker to be announced and God willing Master Quest. I'd be set for life...

But i never bought Prime 1 or 2 (i borrowed them) so i can finally get them the way they were meant to be played X] and listen to the theme for Prime 1 endlessly again. I used to just let the main menu play for 20min while i cleaned the room or something lol

Well we knew about the DSi beforehand so it wasn't such a big deal for me. :P Actually, I was most excited about the prospect of a new Mario and Luigi game.

Mario & Luigi RPG 3, by far, is what I'm most excited about! I hope its a more like the first then the second. I did enjoy Partners in Time, but it was more linear then the first and nearly all the puzzles were spelled out to the player bluntly.

The Klonoa remake had me most surprised, and it takes a veeeeeeery close second. I didn't own the original Klonoa for the PS1, but I did play the copy that my big bro's ex-girlfriend had. Ever since they broke up, I have never been able to get my hands on a copy of my own...until now!

I'm actually pretty glad for the storage solution. Directly loading from SD cards is something I thought the Wii should have since I first played Twilight Princess.

I remember thinking "Hey...Why do I have a memory card if I don't save on it? I can just use it for back up! Why did I pay for that?"
