With about four days to go before the LittleBigPlanet beta comes to an end, Sony has put out an interesting question to the public: Should it keep the "levels and items" created during the beta and carry those over to the game's launch, or start the whole thing from scratch? It is a question worthy of some discussion.
Anyone can vote in the LBP section of the Official PlayStation Forums before next Monday and Sony will go with whichever choice wins out. Sony is talking specifically about uploaded levels, any "save game data, offline creations or progress cannot be transferred into the full game." So, what's your course of action?

Here is my take on this, i feel that it should all be reset, this way everyone is on teh same page, you get what im saying, i guess its just to be fair to the people who did not have the beta keys.
On teh other hand, it would be great to have all those user created items and levels to go off on from the get.
I guess im torn.
Final choice. DONT RESET.

People put a ton of time into some levels... They should be kept

I would tend to think that keeping the best or highest rated levels would be best, that way in the launch week there is high quality content available, but the crap hasn't started to fill in all the cracks yet.
I had wondered if they weren't going to purge all the levels due to issues with going from beta to gold. While there may not be significant changes to the code, even minor tweaks could break many levels and creations. If that's the case, purge away, as broken content is worse than no content.

I've seen some pretty incredible levels so I think they should stay. However, I'm fairly sure they didn't put everything in the beta create mode so in theory these levels are incomplete and maybe not even as good as they could be. Although I guess going back and editing a part of your level to include new stuff is easier than just making a new one.
I don't know I thought I knew the answer but now I'm torn.

1) beta invites getting a head start on the general public is not fair.
2) a head start for some means more and better levels available closer to the launch date and not later.
3) hmm....

The problem with keeping some stuff and trashing the rest is that it's really a huge slap in the face to anyone who's level got deleted. It's easy to cast out the penises and 1-1 remakes, but some of the levels that weren't as popular may have taken their creators just as much time and effort, and it seems pretty disrespectful to simply dismiss that. This isn't school, it's a video game.

now i'm thinking maybe they can do something so we can keep all the cool stuff we make and earn like how with the ninja gaiden sigma demo. you could earn points that you could use in the retail game. the only problem would be trophy support. at least let use keep the earned objects in the popit, i just got this sweet bulldozer.

It would be a shame to lose LittleBigCalculator, and all those other amazing levels, so no.

On the one hand, there is some allure to a total reset, just to put everyone back to square one, with some people just having a bit more experience in it than others.
On the other hand, a total reset would be a slap in the face to all the creators of all the glory that is
In turn, a middle of the road solution that preserves the cream of the crop (like that calculator) is unfair when posed with the simple question of who gets to choose what stays and what goes.
I actually say kill 'em all. Something so radical has to be good.

Keep highly rated levels, delete those few people played or weren't rated high. I know the this would still be contentious for some (what would the cut off be?) but it would save the best levels at least.

MMO betas don't let you port over your character to the retail game does it? Same principle should apply.

I don't mind if they re-set the levels - just please don't make me re-do all the tutorials again!!

who cares. This game was terrible. I am SO GLAD I got to play the beta, becuase that allowed me to cancel my pre-order and save $60.
However, if I'm missing the point of this game, someone please set me straight. I just didn't like the game, nor did I get the point.
Thanks

If you didn't like it after playing the beta you didn't like it. Different tastes. Personally, it's my pick for game of the year so far.

Alex Evans confirmed it today at TGS. Beta levels will carry over. It's not a bad thing. This means you'll have a bunch of levels (and items) available at launch.
