Can anyone show me a good Europe -> America import website? I don't care what it costs; I'm playing this game as soon as it's in English.

First half of 2008? Then why the hell don't i have it yet?

But seriously. Why does NoA like to torture us all of a sudden? They've really dropped the ball this past year

No kidding. I'm pretty pissed about Fatal Frame IV now having a roughly zero chance of localization, and I can only imagine how NA residents who were looking forward to Disaster must feel. At least with the DS, I would rather have Nintendo make no games for it than the strange "no X for you, [insert one or more non-Japanese region(s) here]" policies we've been seeing with the Wii. I know FE is confirmed for NA so this isn't one of those instances, but the erratic or nonexistent localization we've seen with Disaster, Fatal Frame, Captain Rainbow, and probably good things in the future like Dynamic Zan, Fragile, etc, are honestly starting to concern me.

I'd wish Nintendo would at least come out and say this instead of making us think they've completely lost it, at least. Is there a Wii region-unlocking hack that can be used on the latest Wii firmware? Like a moron I kept updating and updating because I never imagined I'd potentially need to import. Thank goodness the DS is region-free.

Twilight Hack Homebrew Channel makes for free region-free mode for Wii

Easy install, just check it on Nintendo Wii Fanboy

NOO!

I may end up importing my first game. If it was just a few weeks I could wait -- maybe even a month -- but a vague "err sometime in 2009" is unbearable.

Strange. People import from Japan all the time. Europeans occasionally import from America. Must be a first to be importing from Europe to America.

Eh, at least one person out there probably couldn't live without Lux-Pain, Undercover: Dual Motives, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, etc.

You forgot the Flower, Sun, and Rain remake, Zealot :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one looking forward to Lux-Pain. It looks really interesting.

Oh, I had no idea Flower, Sun, and Rain came out at the same time as Lux-Pain. What's the hold-up, Marvelous?

Although I've been hoping for Lux-Pain I just couldn't stomach the import prices I saw on ebay (there's got to be a better place somewhere on the internet that ships to the US, right?) Fire Emblem is another matter entirely.

Seems there is a new trend developing here. Europe is now Nintendo's favourite non-Japanese market; most likely due to the falling dollar and economic crisis (aka recession) NA is facing. Not to say the Europeans aren't effected, just that NA will see the worst of it.

I want to first re-iterate how ugly I think this game is.

Second, as long there isn't excessive use of the word "mum" (which I find oddly unsettling) I may be tempted to purchase this one EU style.

Strangley, I get unsettled when a character utters the word 'mom'.

I'd bet my 0,02€ on that it is a trivial typo.
