this game is amazing..... not that I would know but trust me you should seriously buy this game just the beginning had me hooked (it's first person but think more along the lines of metriod prime fps or Theif or Elder scrolls)and to comment on said comment above you're right very few people have a modded xbox but anyone that plays this game and dosen't buy it to support the developers should be ashamed of themselves for not supporting something that actually is worth 60 bucks....I will buy this when it releases just to support development.....but Im going back to the wonderful nuclear holocaust that is fallout 3

No one said it yet? Ok, I will. Why is there no directX 10 listed? I hope there is a DX10 client as well. Otherwise I'm slightly disappointed in the specs.

What could they add with DX10 that they can't do with 9? I havn't seen anything yet and Bethesda are hardly focussed on the PC.

Have you played a DX10 game though? It's generally all around better in practically every aspect.

Yes I've played games with DX10 "features". No I havn't played a game where the DX10 couldn't be done with DX9.

Except for...well, all of them. DX9 can't handle the same graphics options as DX10 can. DX10 just ups the bar for "recommended" specs. Also, some of the basic differences would be shadows and fog. Done much better in DX10 than DX9. There are numerous other differences, but I'll leave you to google that instead of back-and-forth on here.

decent example of direct x differences, though the video quality kinda sucks.

You're arguing this like I havn't looked into it. I know that when games have DX10 options that those look better. I'm also saying that those same visuals can be completed with DX9.

2 of the biggest examples I can think of are Bioshock and Crysis. Crysis's DX10 features were a joke and many of them can be activated in the .ini file on a DX9 machine. One of the biggest differences with Bioshock was the water ripples and you know... it's not like that's been around since DX8. Oh wait it has.

arguing it that way because you're acting that way. And no, bioshock and crysis are not really examples of this because they're still DX9 games in a DX10 shell. Enabling DX10 features in DX9 doesn't make it a DX10 game. All I originally was getting at was that DX10 wasn't even mentioned as an option, which means DX10 features aren't available (though I hope they are, I'm just curious to why the occlusion of such).

Ok, and I'm saying that if it was an option it would be a comparable effect to Crysis and Bioshock.

Mm, probably true enough. Would still be nice to see some volumetric fog and such.

You guys forget about Stalker Clear Sky DX10
http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,658913/News/Stalker_Clear_Sky_-_Exclusive_DX9_vs_DX10_screenshots/
Compare the first DX9 screenshot to the first DX10 (mouse over the picture on that page) - massive difference. It uses volumetric smoke, dynamic fire, soft water...

The only thing i'm lacking is the CPU. My rigg is running on a P4 overclocked to 4.3 Ghz. Colled by a minisplit I have right next to my pc case and huge fan

Seems like 'll be able to play it just fine, but i should look on to upgrade to a c2d 2.66

Forget everything else, just put up posts of random and unnecessary information and relate it to Fallout 3 and I'll be happy.

I'm so excited.

To anyone who may be contemplating an upgrade: you may find this article http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-gpu-upgrade,1928.html very informative, as it provides guidance on GPU vs. CPU upgrades. Unfortunately, it does not include Oblivion as one of its benchmarking tools.

I have no doubt I will be able to play it, even though I only have an ATI HD 2600 XT. I can play Crysis on mostly high settings (some medium), with some config tweaks. And all the latest games I've tried work fine and fallout 3 isn't the next generation of graphics. It's all about the gameplay, but the graphics look nice also.

Crap. My video card is only 256MB and on a 24" monitor I'd probably need more than just the 512.

Perfect blend of graphical quality with little to almost no framerate drops plus quick loading times on the 360.

Awesome. I can not wait for this game. I was going to pick it up for the PC, but with not definite mod support at the time, I will just got with 360 for now. I can always pick up another copy on PC later.
