Bungie / Microsoft really didn't agonize over choosing a name for Halo 3: Recon, did they? Maybe this hints at a slew of Halo 3 Fill-In-The-Blank titles that'll stretch your H3 experince from now until the year 2041, when your brain just gets dropped right into the game. Who knows, by then you might actually be able to just get an injection that'll make you Master Chief.
By the way, this Halo 3: Recon video footage is also available in sparkling high-definition on the Xbox Live Marketplace, so if you're really jonesing for something to pick apart and agonize over for the next umpteen months, then get to downloading. It's free and waiting for you.

The difference is Sony usually claims the video they are showing is in game footage. They swear it isnt cgi when it really is. Microsoft isnt making any such claims with this video.

Really? Other than KZ2 trailer at E3 2005, when has Sony done that? And Jack Trentton said it when he thought he was being asked about a different game. The gaming press started this rumor.
I do believe that Jack knew what he was saying and that he really was claiming the KZ2 footage was in-game. But that is irrelevant now because LOOK AT KZ2, it looks just as good and in many respects BETTER than the trailer.
So, Sony showed it can match and exceed a CGI trailer.
Sony does this with ONE game and somehow you think that they do this on a regular basis.
Give me another example of Sony saying showing CGI and saying its in-game.

I remember a while back hearing that bungie acquired one of the lead developers of the ghost recon series so the name implies alot more than just a suffix I believe. The fact that they show an ODST (a badass marine for those non-halo educated) instead of a super-soldier spartan probably implies a more tactical oriented gameplay. Add the fact he has a silencer on his gun and he avoids confrontation with the brutes and I think we have something more along the lines of a stealth shooter than the run and gun formula Halo is used to. I for one am willing to sell my body to bungie if they would let me get my hands on this sooner than NEXT YEAR.... o well :(
