Why would they make you have Resistance 2 in the PS3 to use a controller for the PSP game?

I'd say it's actually dumber than the original Crystal Chronicles need for separate GBA's for each player. The GBA was an expensive controller, but it also served some purpose. This PSP to PS3 hookup? Terrible. It would have been easier to stick that second analog stick onto the PSP. Sony fails for worst handheld-to-console hookup.

What are you supposed to do with your PSP? Lay it on a table and huddle over it while you have your controller under the table? Either your back will scream in protest or someone will walk in and think you're looking at porn.

The GBA was an expensive controller for CC just as a large TV was an expensive display for just one game. You idiot.

You don't buy a big TV for use with one game. At the time CC came out, the GBA could be had for under $79. To make this one PSP game work with a PS3 controller, you need a $400 PS3. Next time, call yourself an idiot.

I'm defending CC, I don't give a crap about resistance.

You don't buy a GBA for use as a controller with one game as much as a TV. It's not an "expensive controller". At the time, everyone already had one of the little buggers (see sales numbers). Among me and my 3 closest friends we must've had 6.

I'm just mildly annoyed some people are still undeservedly crapping on CC despite having been proven wrong many times over, is all. ;)

Jeez, instead of just adding a 2nd stick to the latest PSP they're going to have you hook up your Dual Shock controller? Real portable. One of the biggest problems with the PSP is the camera issues due to lack of a 2nd stick. They should add one, and for people with the old PSP they can include an inferior 1 stick mode into future games.

I just don't get why this would be used. If I'm at home with my DualShock3 and my PS3 - I'm just going to play the PS3. I want to be able to use a controller on the road. Like plug the PSP into a TV and have a wireless controller. Kind of like an ultraportable PS1/2.

I find this to be a really cool feature, but it just doesn't seem very practical unless your mounting your PSP on some type of docking device. And seeing as how this is going to work it would definitely be easier to just add a second analog stick, as well as rumble, to the next iteration of the PSP.

Why not bypass the PS3, and just connect a DS3 directly to a PSP (via USB)?

Or, hell, someone run with this idea further, and make a DS3 "shell" for the PS3 to snap into! You'll still hold the PSP as normal, but will have the extra buttons/features of a DS3!

Its not mandatory, so its not removing the portable aspect, its just an option, amongst many, besides, if that were the case, the portable aspect would have been lost ages ago with the connection to TVs to play on widescreen etc etc etc

Good fucking lord that sounds like one hell of a cumbersome method for such a potentially simple solution (USB DS3 or just add a secondary analogue nub).

Looks like you will unlock some extra stuff as well, also, you can play it on a TV, not fullscreen though.

The Japanese absolutely LOVE to make and add little gadgets to everything. It doesn't necesarily matter if they're practical or not, just as long as it's made and placed on store shelves.

Par for the course, really.

why is everybody so mad? it's not mandatory, its just an optional thing. if you want to take it on the road its not going to be broken but if you're at home then plug it in if you want or dont. simple.

Lack of 2nd analog nub = EPIC FAIL!

And yes I have owned both PSP and DS and PSP went back to the store and I still don't care for the DS much more. People want to play a portable FPS with a decent freakin control scheme but Sony and Nintendo just keep shoving crappy Japanes RPG's down our throats /rant off

I wish all PSP games could have an option to use a PS3 controller. Most of the time the PSP controls are okay but sometimes you get to a part of the game where it just doesn't work. I'd like to be able to use a real controller for times like that.

I don't think I've ever heard so many people complain about MORE choices and features. It's not like this is the only way the game will work.

Maybe the next version of the PSP will have a second analog stick (it should, anyway). But the current PSP does not, so this is giving you the option to use a second stick for the game, as well as unlock additional features and levels. People used to love this stuff when Nintendo did it with the Game Boy and Super Nintendo (and later GBA/GCN).

Everybody just wants to complain, and it's so annoying. First they're complaining about too many PSP SKU's being released too quickly forcing people to upgrade, then they complain about still supporting legacy control schemes. Then they complain about the lack of connectivity options between PSP and PS3 (RemotePlay apparently wasn't good enough?), and then they're complaining when it happens. Sony's being treated like the Wal-Mart of the gaming world all of a sudden, and it's sickening. Gamers are the most fickle people I've ever met in my life.

I think what we're seeing here is that Sony is listening, so you're hearing alot more whining. MS doesn't listen and neither does Nintendo. They're like Cartman, they say "whateva, I do what I want, I'm in 12 gangs".

Plus evidently it's becoming cool to hate on Sony for any little reason (again). I guess holiday shopping time = Sony hater revival.

How about making the psp2 just like the dual shock 3 so it can be a controller for the ps3 but with a screen?

Considering how lame the current analog nub is on the PSP, it's strange that people actually want a second one.

Why not just slap another analog stick on the PSP 3000, or I guess the PSP 4000? I know it would alienate us PSP 1000 Owners, but I would buy it just for the better controls, then we could actually play FPS games on the PSP.
