TGS 08: Watch the Tekken 6 trailer
60
Surprising almost no one, Tekken 6 has been officially announced for a fall 2009 release on the PS3/Xbox 360. The new English language trailer takes us to the magical world of Tekken, where kangaroos and pandas can hold grudge matches against fat people. Who says games aren't art?

Still trying to get past the whole "Tekken on 360" thing.
O well.
But why do I see people saying stuff about the new Soul Calibur being better on the 360? What makes it so? I think they are identical except that Vader is on the PS3 and Yoda is on 360.

Great trailer compositing, it really caught my interest (I'm also a huge Tekken fan). However I still can't shake the feeling that it's mostly a visual upgrade than anything else... but seriously, what else could I really expect at this point?

Admittedly Tekken is a button masher, however, if you are experienced enough you can overcome that. "People have played with thier feet and won matches, if that is possble, then a game is nothing but a button masher. And notice how noobs who have no idea what they are doing can still beat you in a match if you don't watch yourself, fortunatly that wouldn't happen in say WWE games because simply pressing the same thing won't get you very far. You 'need' tactics to win."
I never posted a comment before, but I had to just to say the quote above is the most wrong comment I have ever read. SvR is the king of broken, cheaper filled games.
Good luck with that mashing against anyone that actually plays Tekken legit.

I'm not saying you have to button mash to win :) But if you 'can' win but simply smashing the buttons, I class that as a button masher.
For example, lets take a game like Halo, you couldn't smash buttons and expect to win anything far less actually shoot an alien properly, however, if my head was turned and I smashed buttons theres the potential chance I could beat an opponent in Tekken. Its obvious I wouldn't do that online if I expected to actually beat someone, but then theres the 'repetitive move syndrome' that some people have online which is just as annoying, where they constantly do the same move over and over and block. Its annoying but you have to find ways around it and if you're good at the game, it won't matter.
So don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning button mashing, I'm just saying Tekken is a button masher to begin with, but then you'll find most beat em ups are, unless like WWE you need to learn actual moves and buttons to find out how to pin or hit people with stuff. But if triangle and square are punch and X and circle are kick, there you have it, a button masher because the basic buttons to beat an opponent are right there in front of you.

So you base what a button masher is on being able to beat the opponent without looking at the screen?
"For example, lets take a game like Halo, you couldn't smash buttons and expect to win anything far less actually shoot an alien properly, however, if my head was turned and I smashed buttons theres the potential chance I could beat an opponent in Tekken."
I would say stop judging the quality of the game by the lack of quality in your opponents. Tekken is so un-mash friendly, that if you play against anyone that actually knows how to play, they will punish you completely every misstep you make, even more so in T6.
Also, I never said you HAVE to button mash to win.
Finally, they aren't WWE games, there is only one, SvR. And that game is so broken it's even remotely legit in any sense.

1. What you are "just saying" is wrong
2. Beat em ups? Those are final fight, Streets of Rage
3. WWE? Actual Moves? Being able to pin someone with yellow damage and winning is MORE legit?
4. That last sentence is a huge cluster-f of misplaced logic

Who is actually going to buy this for the 360? Wouldn't people want to use a competent d-pad for a fighting game?
If it piques my interest, I'll buy it for the PS3, like Street Fighter 4. I love my 360, but its d-pad is difficult to use.
