Buy PixelJunk Eden, get Monsters Encore for free

No one can doubt the incredible popularity of PixelJunk Monsters. That game continues to sell, months after its release. Now, the PixelJunk team wants you to try Eden, their latest game. As a bonus, they'll give you a free download of the Monsters Encore expansion. The add-on pack adds 15 new levels (and a random level generator). This should be a deal for those that love PJM and are looking for something new.

The deal ends on 10/16.

FFS, stop having a bloody sook. Q are a company, and their goal is to maximise profits, like any other company. Can you blame them for making such a deal if it brings them more customers? Seriously, be grateful that they supplied us with such games.

I feel cheated...what about those who bought Eden the first day it came out? I still haven't bought Encore since I haven't had the time to finish Monsters but if they gave it to me for free I wouldn't complain. This goes to show that I should always wait when a new game is released instead of buying it ASAP.

I got an email telling me I'd get the Eden soundtrack for free if I downloaded Eden.

It said nothing about Monsters Encore.

I got an email saying I would get the soundtrack too. What is the deal?

Maybe it has something to do with our PSN accounts being linked to our PlayStation Underground accounts?

Like, if they see that you bought Monsters, they'll offer you Monsters Encore. If not, they'll offer you the Eden soundtrack.

And I guess you get no offers if you already have both Monsters Encore and the Eden soundtrack. :P

Hmm...But what happens if your two accounts *aren't* linked, or you don't have a PSU account? Does it check which offer you should get "on the fly"?

I got the same email for the Eden soundtrack. Unfortunately, I already have Eden and its soundtrack so it doesn't do me much good.

i dont know why, but when i tried the demo of eden, idk, i just didnt really find it that interesting...but cool for people who were wanting to get it, and not cool for those who already did

I already got both of these as well, good deal for those who have neither. I'm hoping that patch for Encore comes out soon, those levels are a bitch!

i cant agree with u more about them being hard.... im having trouble still on the first island lol.... i didnt even touch the encore levels.... im still stuck on the 4 tree level on medium lol but i must say this game is much easier with 2 people... i still need to work on getting 4 more rainbows to unlock hard.... im kind of scared to see how hard those are cuz medium was crazy

I found the 4 tree level to be the hardest in the while game (not counting Encore).

So don't give up.

All I can say about the 4 tree level is that you only need arrows, cannon, flamethrowers and mortars. By the end you'll need at least 3 black mortars and a purple one in order to beat the boss.

Also, on the left hand tree of the 4, the only things that work are arrows, flamethrowers and mortars, because cannons don't have the range, they won't fire at the monsters. Also, when you put a flamethrower there, you need to buy it up 1 level immediately because at the lowest level (green/blue), it won't fire either. But starting at yellow it works great.

You'll obviously need to sell and rebuild towers on this level in order to beat it.

I already bought both. And you know what? I don't mind this at all.

Both are well worth the money. I even paid MORE for Monsters Encore than for Monsters (because I got Monsters on sale for $5) and I'm still not mad.

I've played ASSLOADS of Monsters Encore and I'm still not done with it months later. It was some of the best $15 I spent (for the main game and Encore).

Eden is good for the price, I've played it enough to get my money out of it ($10) even if it isn't as good as Monsters.

They are well worth the money but it still sucks getting screwed over for being an early adopter. I'm still waiting on the trophy patch for Monsters. Is it ever going to come out? Has anyone heard anything about it?

You're not getting screwed if you got something worth what you paid in the first place. It's all in your head.

Do you people not understand the concept of a sale? Did Sony rip off the first adopters of the PS3 when they dropped the prices later on in their product cycle? Did Apple rip off the people who first bought an iPhone when they dropped their prices a year later? Does the supermarket rip you off when they drop the price of the cereal you just bought last week by a buck? Paying more is the cost of being an early adopter. You could argue that the "premium" that you paid was in exchange for you getting to play the game first. That's the whole idea behind being an early adopter. If you don't like it, wait a year or two before you buy anything. I hope that extra year of not having anything is worth the six dollar add-on that you'll get.

I know what you are saying and I think everyone agrees. The thing here is that Eden was released not that far ago, if this had happened 5 months from now I don' t think people would be making a big deal about it.

Still, I believe that developers should put a little bit of more care and thought to us early adopters. I know the premium that we pay to get to play it first but I believe it would be nice if every now and then we got a bit something special from developers.

I for one bought Eden the first day just to show my support to original games, I really haven't had the time to play past the third garden. As it is right now, there aren't many incentives to buy stuff when it first comes out asides from playing or using it first. On the hand there are lots of incentives for those who decide to wait. A lot of a product success depends on its first months of sale. If this trend continues more and more people will just decide to wait. If developers were to do something special for early adopters that would be an incentive to buy first. Littlebigplanet is doing something like that by offering special costumes to early adopters. More stuff like that would be very appreciated.

Ahh cool now why can't you give us the standard pixeljunk monsters instead, sounds a good deal. If you have pixeljunk monsters to begin with that is.

I got Pixel Junk Monsters when it was on sale in the summer and enjoyed it. But I am not really good at it so never got Encore because I heard it was harder and didn't want to spend $6 on it. I hated the Pixel Junk Eden demo also though so I am not sure if I should get the deal or not. I wish though Pixel Junk Monster trophy patch would finally come out.

People complaining they got ripped off though. I got Superstar Dust HD when the trophy patch came out since I enjoyed the demo. Now they got a bundle which is really worth it and I am a bit upset. But that only makes me realize that bundles do come on the PSN store and I should wait for them.

i finally downloaded eden because of this deal. i got pixel junk monsters because i heard good things about it before it launched and it came at a cheaper initial price the first week. i was only a little upset after i got flOw and the expansion bundle launched about 2 months later. after that holiday sale where i got calling all cars pretty cheap i figured it best to wait for deals on games i wasn't itching to play.

I'd better get the encore... I spent $10 on eden just so I could get encore and could care less about the soundtrack. I have yet to receive an email though so I'm hopeful

I didn't receive any e-mail, but I've been wanting to download PJ Eden for a while and I already have PJ Monsters so this deal works for me. I didn't get any e-mail from Sony and when I log on the PSN Store, it mentions nothing about a sale, so do I just download Eden and then Encore will be available to download for me also? I wouldn't be disappointed if I bought the game on first release. However, I purchased Eden about a week ago and hearing about this bums me out seeing as how I also purchased Monsters at the same time. Burn. :(

I haven't received anything yet and I bought Eden on Friday as well. Kind of weird that nothing has come... oh well... I guess we all have to be patient.
