Ludwig and Chris continue their string of intimate, romantic podcasts without the anchor, the rock, the Juice: Justin McElroy. This time they've got a pretty good excuse: They're in Tokyo, and because of the time difference, actually recorded the show sometime next week.
Bear with us through this trying time, and we promise things will be back to normal next week.

While I love Ludwig and Chris I think a Justin McElroyless show is not a show at all but rather a show that just lets us know how good we have it, much like a trip to a third worl country shows you for a short time that I am so forunate but then later on you just go back to the way it always was.

I'll second that emotion. No offence to Chris or Ludwig.

Justin is the creamy center that holds together the Joystiq podcast Oreo.
I want to lick him

Those are scary levels of podcast-fanboyism. What have you created Joystiq?!

Griffin! Griffin Griffin !!!! The McElroy part is the only part that matters in this recipe for awesomesauce. We all know the Griffin flavor of McElroy is the most juiciest, tangiest, manliest, not to mention McElroyst of the McElroy variety.
You've done two castings of the pod with out Justin. Just take that final step Chris. I believe in you! Nay! WE believe in you! I just don't know how much longer I'll make it if I don't get a dose of that angelic voice you call Griffin McElroy.
(Some times I wonder what's wrong with me)

I agree! You guys raise the price per podcast and then take 1/3 of the show away?

It's not that I like Justin more, it's just upsetting even 1 of the cast members is missing. I'd be just as upset if luddy or chris were gone

To borrow a Ludwig quote, "I can't believe Justin did that. Actually, I can."

Last week was the first time I've ever struggled to finish an episode of the podcast. Don't get me wrong: I think Chris and Ludwig are great; but the podcast chemistry just doesn't exist without the McElroy catalyst.
Sorry fellas, but I think I'm going to skip this week, as I'm afraid that the lack of Justin's contribution for a second week in a row MIGHT just make take the Joystiq Podcast down a peg in my brain. I'd sooner just pretend there's no show this week, and look forward to next week's return to form.

It is so much easier to listen to the podcast and pretend Chris and Ludwig aren't there either, then its just an intro, liners, and outro.
Plus it can be used as an alarm clock...
if you want to wake up randomly.

Seems to be a bit of negative discharge in the air (perhaps it's from Justins 'premature' post). I think people are showing a lot of love to Justin and he deserves it, but I think Ludwig and Chris have to be shown some appreciation (or props, for you kids.)
I'm not the person to do it because I just woke up and I'm itching for bacon, but I think the silent majority need to speak, to rally round their unsung champions of mature videogaming discussion. Or whatever.

I actually like the Ludwig and Chris Mix because that is how it was from the start when I started listening to the cast from day one. Thing is Justin's often insults towards the readers throw me off. Regardless though he is essential to the cast I just enjoy that he isn't there for an episode or two but anything more than that would seem ackward. I alos think Justing would be a lot better would he be allowed to drop F-Bombs although it is delight when Chris and Justin do drop them by "accident". Occasional F-Bombs or other 4 letter words = pure entertainment.

you know, this week i dont think it was a case of justin missing, but a case of 2 fatigued men still deciding to do a podcast when you can clearly hear in their voices that theyd rather be passed out. i mean seriously, i nearly fell asleep myself listening to the show on my long drive home last night. i need you guys to energize me through the beauty of laughter, not give me a lullaby that puts me to sleep. even if the podcast had been late a day or two, i think i would have much rather had 2 awake hosts than ones that were half asleep.

The Joystiq Podcast is a cake. Miss one ingredient, and it's just not cake. It's like a burrito without ground beef or dolphins without blow holes.
