I was sort of on the fence about this game, but I think those awful voice overs pretty much tipped the scales to "not buy".

Yikes!! i hate that voice acting

Just like zaxonzaxon, i had interest in this game before, now after that trailer I know i won't buy it, not only because the voice acting but also for the brief glimpse of the story.... it's not appealing at all!!

They never showed up. (Well, apart from Demon Soul and Quantum Theory.) There's still like a day or two left of TGS, but it's *very* unlikely they'll be shown then.

It's all very weird.

I'll get this when it's having a clearance at Target, didn't like the battle system in the demo...

Well, as noted above, I don't care for the voice-overs, either. Nor did the demo leave me particularly riveted. However, I feel like I NEED to buy it, just to show that JRPGs can/will sell on the PS3, in some futile attempt to instill confidence in developers. It's all just... naive hope that one day, we'll see more JRPG exclusives...

I live in the UK and I paid ridiculously import duty + rip off postage to import the Japanese version. The price I paid for is like doubled compared to normal UK games RRP, but now I feel every pence worth importing - the voice-overs of the trailer is crap. I could not feel any emotion in there, maybe its act by a bunch of temporary workers who are trying to get some easy cash as its credit crunch.
Anyway, I love Hirano Aya and shes the only reason for me to get the game. Its a great game if there is option to choose the voice language and keep subs in english. Otherwise maybe you can avoid the game and save for other titles, e.g. [White Knight Chronicles] .

Loved the demo. Definitely gonna pick this up since it's the first JRPG on the ps3 that actually appeals to me.

Doesn't the game contain Japanese voice acting as well like the xbox 360 version? I prefer Japanese audio with English subtitles.

I will definately be picking up this game - I already have it on the Xbox and the story is one of its best aspects. It's very haunting and its definately different then the standard storylines of late.

To be honest, I'm not sure what the obsession is with North American gamers - it seems the only games like are ones that are set in a grey background featuring an apolcolyptic world where you are a sole gunman/marine bent on saving the world. I am so sick to death of these types of "war" / "end of world" / "first person shooter type" games that when something that is different comes along, I'm all over it.

You definately should give this game a chance - heck you might even learn something about Chopin.

Xythanon: "It's all just... naive hope that one day, we'll see more JRPG exclusives..."

JRPG exclusives?! I wish I could see any JRPG at all on the system, exclusive or not. It amazes me how Sony was once the mothership of the genere and is now this gigantic JRPG wastland. More than amazing, its just plain infuriating. No wonder they are losing ground for the MS' system at japan.

Played this on the 360, it is pretty dull.. even though I'm sure there was extra chapters/area's to explore, the game is played A to B.. not til on the New Game+ is there anything to do.. all the enemies are boosted with +50% attack & double HP, but you get nothing extra at all, and annoyingly reset to level 1, although you can get a exp-boost item just before the last area.. each new battle on NG+ you get hammered til you level up a load, especially reaching a new chapter.. A couple of early mid enemies rip you health to shreds on the normal game.. it wasn't exactly fun or a good story the first time through and couldn't recomend it to anyone on either console..

to clarify - you lose everything from your original save except your battle level & music scores. the exp boost is found on the New Game+ if you know how to get it - and it's very, very long winded...
