At a
very, very informal Tecmo event, held during the Tokyo Game Show on Saturday evening, attendees were introduced to the new faces of
post-Itagaki Team Ninja. Though we'd heard before that Hitoshi Hasegawa had taken over as the head of the
Ninja Gaiden and
Dead or Alive development team, it was our first opportunity to meet the team's new representation. Joining him is Yosuke "
Itsygaki" Hayashi, director of
Ninja Gaiden Sigma and producer of
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword. Neither of them wear sunglasses indoors.
Tecmo refrained from commenting on the team's upcoming slate of games, candidly stating that it was working on "a shitload of projects." Which either implies a large quantity of games, or a very oddly named RPG.

What the hell? Aren't they supposed to announce their new projects? Shouldn't they be making a statement officially that there is a new Dead or Alive at least, so their fans and shareholders know their biggest money maker is still running?

What happened to the above? Investigate, Joystiq!

LAME! Neither of them choose to attempt to convince me that the sun is indoors through their choice of stylish eye wear....Second Ninja Gaiden Sigma oh teh sux and YES! I have valid reasons Y i believe so....Third They are just lame looking Itagaki was sweet...WTF I need a life...

I thought sigma was great. it scored higher the 2 didnt it seems like someone did something right. (yeah its a port i know but it was a good one that Hayashi was thrown under the bus for by itagaki. when he was watching over sigmas development he praised it, as soon as he went all exclusive with the 360 with NG2 he turned around called sigma trash)

With Yosuke Hayashi at the helm, does that mean we're going to be see more PS3 games by Team Ninja? Sigma was an arousing success so why not milk the cash cow a little? Just a thought.

I'm going to miss Itagaki. At least when he ran the show you knew him and his team were out boozing it up and sexually harassing women before they set out to do a Dead or Alive Beach Boobs game. With the newer, nerdier lineup, those games will just seem cheap and forced. Cause you know those guys arent knee deep in the ladies. Just a thought...

Ninja Gaiden DS was superior to Ninja Gaiden 2, so in Hayashi the future of Team Ninja seems to be in safe hands.

Sorry, but for all of his mannerisms and attitudes, I have to admit that IT was one hell of a dev. I cant see Team Ninja being as good without him and his main men. Really hope that MS picks him up and gives im a studio.
Either that or he can join with Bioware...god they would make such awesome games.

Oh Itagaki, how I will miss the days when I would read articles in which you had been interviewed while drunk.....

Given that Ninja Gaiden and DOA are the only titles that prop up TECMO......
With IT leaving.....TECMO going the way of the dodo is IMO likely.
If they somehow think of an original IP I'd be surprised.......they have had years to do that.
