An article purported to be from the Associated Press has been floating around today that very casually dates PlayStation's Home for November 19 -- coincidentally, the same day as the New Xbox Experience launch. The origins of this version stem from The Inquirer ("Sony, Microsoft begin battle of virtual worlds"). It's also interesting to note that the article does not mention NXE's simultaneous launch date.
When you search the AP website, however, you will instead come across a "Sony, Microsoft virtual communities to start" from the same day (via Yahoo!). In this version, Home is "dated" for "later this year," while NXE is coming November 19. Both pieces also use the exact same quotes from Enterbrain's Hirokazu Hamamura, Sony's Ryoji Akagawa and Microsoft's John Schappert. It's likely that the former piece was an earlier, now-corrected draft from the AP or a gross misread by The Inquirer (and subsequently propagated from there).
It should also be noted that at Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference this weekend, the company announced an open beta for Home would be launching in Japan this month and end in November. We've gone ahead and contacted Sony and AP to confirm.

Those 360 avatars remind me of the adults trying to look cool on the christian rock station. They just look so.... lame.

you know, i have that PlayOn Media player and i forgot it could do NetFlix. probably because i dont use NetFlix as i dont have a very reliable internet connection (im going on 3 weeks now with no service).
but that does add to my point even more, i dont think either does anything that will sell systems. im sure Home will be a interesting bullet point for Sony and the NXE will make their console easier to use, which is also a bullet point for MS. but neither is something the average consumer (who they are trying to rope in) would care about.

lol you guys bitch and wine too much. there is gonna be a 2d version of home where u get all the features of home without having to literally walk around. blah blah i hate sony blah blah home is lame blah MS avi's are better blah. bitching over shit that you get for free arrrrrrrrrrrghhh! PSN vs LIVE. i definitely dont see a difference anymore except one is free. both get movies/shows, dl games, chat, pics, dl themes, demos. dont give me that crap about LIVE having more games bullshit. just tell me how many you actually own. i currently own 12 psn games i only own one that i felt was a mistake to buy(toy home).3 games i think you can get on LIVE (gripshift 2.0, SPFII HD, Novastrike[idk]). im not including the PS eye games or PS1 games either. Quality and quantity. planning on buying PAIN(trophy whore brother) and megaman 9 i rather buy socom in the store so i can get the headset. still short on in game chat and not every game allows a playlist but still getting there what do you expect from something thats free. *Used PS3 to type this wireless keyboard/Mouse ($30) i guess the web browser still counts for something right? i have a 60gig and i completely dont care about backwards compat

MS to me Symbolizes McCain given It's final throws of desperateness to OBAMA (Sony), My point is that I own a Ps3 and i am happy wiht it as long as i can play COD4 the same a XBL without paying, Really i see no difference, I begin to see improvement in The PSN and i think it will surpass XBL, MS your pinned down and your in your final seconds...
