yeah ok it was a bit of a laugh, but considering TGS is on the 'proper' new is dry, nothing's happening.. Apart form Halo 3: Recon, which I'd imagine would feel a bit Call of Duty, then something about excluvity of Last Remnant if I heard John Shappert right, oh and of course the NXE.. It's pretty uneventful.. even checking the other sister-blogs, TGS seems rubbish.. It's only this year I've made the effort with events, like watching all of E3 for the 3 companies.. I'd of been interested in any other games I could be playing in 6 months time..

Buy 2 get 3rd free would be nice this season with a number a good games coming out soon. Too bad the offer isn't good for pre-orders. Maybe I'll just wait to buy DeadSpace until Fallout 3 and Left4Dead come out.........nah.

Hmmmm... Could we, in theory, buy 2 "placeholder" games and get something like Dead Space free, and then return the 2 "placeholder" games with Toys 'R' Us's 45-day return policy and return to get, for example, CoD:WaW and Mirror's Edge or something once they come out?

It varies from manager to manager, but I think if you go back and say something like, "My friend got me these games, but I already had two of them, can I return them?" They will probably accept it. Others accept it no matter what you say. I'm sure some throw you out of the store.

The last time this deal was up, most people were able to get this to work as long as the game you were exchanging was not the "free" game. So just make sure when they ring it up that the game you want to keep is the one that they ring up as free.

It's still a risk either way, but most have been able to get it to work that way.

I've heard asking for a gift receipt also helps alleviate any problems about doing the "placeholder" thing. Just bring in the gift receipt for whichever placeholder game you get. I'll be doing so.

What is so special about the red controller?

Any of the other colors look better, in my opinion. Maybe not... That blue isn't so hot, either.

This would be a great time for me to get Dead Space and SW:TFU, but I don't know what game I'd want for free...so maybe I'll just stick with Circuit City for the free $10 gift card and then get Fallout 3 at Best buy with my $5 off RZ coupon.
