World of Goo gets Art Style: CUBELLO all sticky on WiiWare
23
We don't have much to say about this week's WiiWare release of World of Goo (2D Boy, 1-4 players, 1,500 Wii Points) because, quite frankly, it might actually be good. While great for Wii owners, it makes the weekly announcement post quite boring.
We have even less to say about this week's other WiiWare offering Art Style: CUBELLO (Nintendo, 1 player, 600 Wii Points) since, much like last month's Art Style: ORBIENT, there's virtually nothing on the internet about it that we can find. From the official description, it sounds like Cubello might be a remake of the bit Generations title Coloris. Is this and Goo enough of an incentive to finally give Mega Man 9 a break?

World of Goo + Secret of Mana = Dopple Boppler is spending 30 bucks on the Shop Channel today. What a bittersweet day.

I agree. I am definately picking this up on steam rather than on my Wii. Peggle nights comes out on steam this week as well!

Isn't coming to WiiWare in Europe, here it's being released as full-price retail Wii disc ... ouch!
Although I guess that has the upside of being available from the bargain-bin for next to nothing in a couple of months. ;)
At least the Steam version for PC can be purchased in Europe, not like Ubisoft and Atari/Infogrames who do not allow European customers to purchase their games through Steam (more money at retail methinks).

The reviews thus far for World of Goo have been rave, and it's art style is beautiful. Buying right now. Secret of Mana can wait.

After playing the first world, I have to say I've never had as much fun with a puzzle game, with the exception of Portal. And hey, the first world was as long as Portal in its entirety!

Funny this article doesn't mention that WoG from 2dboy.com is DRM free... well at least for pre-orders
"We are trying an experiment: World of Goo has absolutely no copy protection or DRM at all, since we want to give you (and everyone) the best experience we can. Thanks for not distributing this, and helping us make this possible!" -WoG release e-mail.
So please, don't pirate this one.

After beating the first chapter, it just has to be said; Wii, PC, it doesn't matter, just buy World of Goo. It is amazing.

Wii version = cheaper and has multiplayer. There could be some advantage to the PC version, I just don't know what it is.

The most notable advantages would be no DRM and Steamworks support. Having no DRM would let you put the game on a flash drive and play it on any computer and Steamworks support adds in things like achievements, voice chat, friends lists, stat tracking, and stuff like that.

Damn, looks like I'm getting this game 3 times.
1. Steam version
2. Pirated version (because I just can't wait that bloody long to play it on my Wii)
3. Retail version when it'll come out in Europe.
