nice review Dustin.

Hmm basically it boils down to with all games comign out do i really wanna buy a single player game?

I skipped Bioshock b/c of this but the GFX and gore of this game might warrant a buy.

Very nice review. I think this one only deserves a rental/borrow for me, I just don't see myself playing it through more than once or twice. And I see you've gone with the ratingless review, I like that.

Great review Dustin! Can't wait to shit myself playing this game at night, alone in my media room on the 50" screen, with the lights off and the surround sound cranked up baby! Oh YES, OH VERY YES!!!

This sounds great! Thank God for Gamefly, because I simply cannot afford to buy all of the games this season that I want, but they let me check them out and if I do want to buy it is really easy. I just beat Silent Hill by the way and I thought it was pretty good, very scary too! Here's hoping Gamefly ships out Dead Space to me quickly. :)

how is gamefly working out for you?

i did a 30 day trial but the new games were "very low availability" the entire time.

Gamefly = AWESOME!!! I've been using it for well over a year now and I've played dozens and dozens of game that I normally wouldn't get to play just because I wouldn't be able to afford it. You can get one shipped to you, play it for a week, and if you don't like it, ship it back and get the next one. You will have to get used to not being able to get a just released game right away. It may be a couple weeks (if it's a really popular one), but if you don't care (I don't), then it works out great.

Yea, they are really crappy if you are trying to get games that have recently come out. I don't use them year round, but will sign up when there are a lot of upcoming games that I want. The trick is to add all of the upcoming games into your queue and then return one of your games before the next game is released. Then on release day you will be shipped that game. I am trying to run the gauntlet and get Dead Space, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, and a few others. I think I am going to buy Fallout 3 though. As long as they receive your last game back before the release date you will isually be guaranteed a copy of the game you want when it releases. I don't even try to get previously released games anymore. They suck for those.

I was so excited for Dead Space, that I ended up playing another "solid single player experience" for the 2nd time to hold me over - Bioshock. when I'm done with that, I'll pick up Dead Space.

Great review. I am a huge fan of the ratingless review myself. Too many people get caught up in the #'s of a rating.

Since when does a game need multi-player to be considered a game good enough to warrant a buy?

Doug

To get the new games from GF as soon as they release you must have them in your Q b4 they actualy release and make sure you *dont have any games out* at the time. That way you get the new game as soon as its out.

The only problem with this is that there are so many good ones coming out that this is going to be nearly impossible to do.

I can see why they brought the release date ahead! Sounds like by the time I finish this I'll be ready for Fallout 3. :)

Are there any nice online capabilities/options?
I have both an XBox360 and a PS3, and for games that come out on both systems, the major deciding factor is: does it have good online stuff? If it does, it tends to be better on the 360. Otherwise, I'll go for the graphic fidelity of the PS3.

I personally am happy that a US Developer finally got the survival horror thing right and it was not another Japanese developer trying to cash in by copying resident evil. BTW I with the rest of you guys with the upcoming games my wallet is ko'ed between guitar hero, GOW2, Fable 2, Fallout 3 some of the most hyped up games of last year are finally coming this year only thing missing is a Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on XBLA announcement

8 hours and not a single anti-EA comment. I'm both surprised and proud of this website.
