Slayer, its an enigma to me as well. I used to troll stupidly on the internet back when I was a teen, but after getting banned, I knew when to quit and do more productive things.

I'd like to see it come to the 360 just to piss off the PS3 fanboys. I wouldn't buy it myself though. Obviously it was overhyped and sales didn't live up to expectations. Hell you never hear anything about the game anymore, even from fanboys.

The game's overhyped, but it sold damn well. That's not the problem. MGS4 360 threads are becoming so last year, just like "NO GAYEMZ" and "Wii SUCKZ", etc.
Each console has nice features an worthwhile games, get over it already. I bought a 360 for BioShock/Dead Rising, then a Wii for Metroid Prime 3/Super Mario Galaxy, and a PS3 for MS4/LittleBigPlanet. I've yet to be on the verge of selling them. Except for the Wii. Fuck NOA.

I sometimes do believe the only way to not be a fanboy is to own all the systems. You buy a PS3 for example and you are inclined to be a fanboy and defend it, to prove, to justify that you made a good decision to purchase it.
Its scary that after getting rid of my PS3 and getting a 360, I've automatically become more of a 360 fanboy, now being happy that Tekken 6, FF13, etc are coming to the 360 whereas if I had a PS3, I would be upset.

All ill say, is why wouldn't a developer want to port a game? There is no real benefit for staying on one console, except of course, if selling on the other console doesn't give you enough money to pay for the time porting it in the first place. Or if it is impossible to port........
Which makes me wounder why square won't port ff13 for 360 in japan, even though all of the code has already been written for the other regions.

Because the PS3 version will most likely get the huge majority of the sales and it isn't worth for them cost-wise to release it on the 360 in Japan.
Just like Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance was released for the Xbox everywhere except in Japan, just wasn't worth it to Konami.

I think the smartest thing is to create "an install disc" that would dump most of the important data to the Hd and make the game 2 cds plus the "istall cd". I have Mgs4 and it is painfull to install the game for every new chapter of so. It be awesome if they saved xbox players that trouble and use the faster dvd drive for loading to a hdd

I was so horny for MGS4, I went out and bought a playstation 3 and beat it three times, after which I returned everything - I do have my PS3 withdrawls sometimes, dreaming of Little Big Planet and Warhawk from time to time... shrug...

Also, the current ban on installation to the hard drive has been somewhat lifted. I foresee MS's new attitude of installation to the HDD as probably sparked by games like this coming to the 360.

I truly believe this will happen. It's just too great of a story to keep it exclusive. The Metal Gear series is what got me into gaming in the first place, but I could never justify buying a PS3 for a single game...

Do you truly believe that? I mean honestly. The PS3 has only been out for 1 and 1/4 of a year and has sold over 14,000,000 consoles. The 360 has been out for 2 3/4 years and has only sold 20,000,000 consoles. (That is to the nearest million of course) My point being that most 360 owners do not wish to play MGS4, and those that do have already on a ps3 they have purchased, or their friends. Well that and IF there was a 360 version it would be released LATE 2009/early 2010. This means that the hype will no longer exist for MGS4. (Its historical place in gaming will still though) Thus if there is not really any hype for the game any more, and 3/4 of the people that have wanted to play it have played it, how do you get 5 million people purchasing it on 360. (Oh and by the by, if sales for the PS3 continue like they are, it will pass the 360 I'd say about summer of next year.)

there's no way that mgs4 is coming to the ps3 those dumbasses may say they're looking into it but the reality is that Kojima doesn't want it on ps3 he's said multible times that, "Metal gear is a ps3 exclusive and will not make an apearance on other consoles"
