Actually, I just read the article to which this one links- apparently so. Shame. IMO more games, and movies for that matter, should feature hand painted/drawn cover art.

This game is a joke. It's time for Midway or whoever owns MK these days to get back to the drawing board and come up with a new universe for MK.

I'm not as against the idea of this game as most people seem to.. But the gameplay looks horribly dated, not even remotely excited about it.
And I'm an MK fan that was able to put up with the outdated gameplay of the past few games. But for a PS3/360 game, it's just unaceptable..

Considering most of the playtest impressions have been largely positive, I may have to keep an eye on this one. Hell, most have been saying it reminds them of MKII.
As for the obsurdity of the matchup, the only people complaining are idiots. Look at ANY roster of ANY fighting game as a thematic collective and tell me that makes sense and I'll show you exactly how your educational system has failed you. Fighting game stories and rosters are for fun. Some of the most beloved franchise in fighting make about as much sense as the average Britney Spears lyric. And if you're going to accept a Russian Wrestler fighting an Indian Shaman but MK vs. DC is "too out there," you're an idiot.

I'd wonder why I'm responding to you but the answer is simple. I just want to see how far you go before you need a new username. To bring a point to the conversation and to illuminate the stage you stand upon clearly marked "fucktard," allow me to elaborate.

Neither the Marvel video games (made by Capcom) or Capcom video games have ever taken themselves seriously and have been extremely comic-bookish. Thats why the conversion to the Marvel vs Capcom universe was pretty flawless.
Also, alot of people seem against this game because the whole concept seems like a jab at the very MvC2 game you referenced. The only difference being that all the Capcom games leading up to MvC were fun.

I don't think you've ever touched an MK game. Since when was dropping an arcade on a players head serious? Or turning a character into a baby. MK is known for being over-the-top with the violence and at times pretty damn comical.

I have to agree with sheppy with on this one. In the end, fighting games are graded on the actual fighting engine not the story. MK VS DC isn't any more silly then Capcom VS Marvel. If the fighting engine is fun and deep, you will care not how the story unfolds.
Personally I am not a MK fan but I did like MKII so if MK VS DC plays like MKII, its a good bet that game will see my money
