See Ben Kingsley in Prince of Persia movie
You have to hand it to Ben Kingsley: For an Oscar winner, that guy will be in just about anything. It's a well-known fact in the industry that if you say aloud "I've got a bunch of money to make a movie, but where will I find an actor?" Ben Kingsley will, within three to five minutes, appear to you as an astral projection to negotiate his share of the residuals.
Now, he's joined the cast of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and you can see him in his garb for the film just above (get this: He plays the bad guy). Yeah, his belt looks stupid, but not as stupid as his hair in BloodRayne, so at least he's making progress.

Yes, our Ben loves to put his arse around a bit, but he did star Sexy Beast, so that must make up for some of his other stuff - like The Love Guru.

That belt is awesome, actually.

That's what I'm sayin'. If that thing can pop the top off of a beer, I'm getting one.

Haha, that industry anecdote cracked me up :)

What's with the pose? I feel like he's channeling some Wrestler from my childhood in the 80's?
"Ben's going to take you down!"

A cousin of mine actually met him in England once, said he was a really nice guy. So yeah he has a bunch of lousy roles, but his performances in Ghandi, Schindlers list and Sexy beast...nuff said.
Saria the Cat @ Oct 14th 2008 11:33AM
I actually really like this guy. I don't have any particularly good reason (it's not like he's played the best of parts), but he just radiates positive vibes.
ExMcCloud @ Oct 14th 2008 11:36AM
Wow your optimistic.....Even my grandma gives me ad vibes...TRUST NO ONE! lolz
sicsided @ Oct 14th 2008 11:49AM
seriously? This guy has played some awesome roles from gandhi, lucky number sleven, too my favorite role of his, House of Sand and Fog. He's a great actor.
Saria the Cat @ Oct 14th 2008 11:56AM
@sicsid: I never said he was a bad actor. I just said he's played some pretty lame roles. And it's true. Look at his recent record on IMDB. That's no fault of his, though. It's like Cameron Diaz. She can't help always being stuck in stupid chick flicks.
StrangeBum @ Oct 14th 2008 12:15PM
Best role ever
Dr. Squires in "The Wackness" ...nothing like seeing old Gandhi taking bong rips, buying pot from a high schooler...oh and he gets it on with Mary Kate Olsen who plays some shrooming hippie
Arnie @ Oct 14th 2008 11:37AM
Cant believe he starred in Gandhi. One of the best movies of all time. I guess as the article says a mans gotta eat.
theturtle363 @ Oct 14th 2008 12:08PM
a man's gotta eat Kobe beef with a diamond fork on a platinum plate with gold edges.

That picture just screams "Ming the Merciless" cosplay.
AwesomeTown @ Oct 14th 2008 11:54AM
Hell, if I was an actor, after I got my Oscar doing the tough demanding roles, I'd go for the easy and fun ones a lot, too.
Bass Masterson @ Oct 14th 2008 1:23PM
In that picture he looks more like Vern Troyer than Ben Kingsley.
Bluebrake @ Oct 14th 2008 2:23PM
Didn't we already know this? Or was it a rumor before?
Anyway, I guess I have to see it now. He might be the greatest actor alive.
MV @ Oct 14th 2008 2:35PM
Son of Jor-El... kneel before Gandhi.
Boffo the $ock @ Oct 14th 2008 4:27PM
That's Sir Ben Kingsley to you.
