Just after liftoff (at about 2:15 into the video) Lord British holds a message up to the cockpit camera written in Logos, the language of Tabula Rasa. We'd love to make fun of him for doing something so incredibly nerdy, but we're ashamed to admit we actually think it's kind of cool. Sorry.
Watch Richard Garriott get shot into space

After finishing Tabula Rasa, Richard Garriott decided to take a break from reaping the adoration of the game's dozens of fans to be (literally) shot into space. Video of his flight was released yesterday, and you can watch it just after the jump.

I visited his place in Austin, it's like a Ren Faire vomited all over this huge river side property. I didn't get to see much of the main house, too busy exploring in the middle of the night.
Has this fort down by the river within shooting distance of a similar designed "pirate" ship on the rivers edge. Was designed in such a way that you could climb the outer walls which reminded me of 2x4's assembled in like a "Lincoln Log" fashion. I seem to remember a few trebuchettes (sp?) and catapults near the river, but couldn't figure out how to fire them though.
1/4 scale Renaissance village was a bit creepy, but keep in mind it was like midnight, and I had been drinking.
All that said, very cool LB.

According to http://planettr.com/ (fansite linked from Tabula Rasa site) the message says:

I claim this vast, empty space in the name of ENGLAND...even though I don't actually live there.

You gotta hand it to the Russians. The Soyuz is the most reliable rocket on Earth, but boy did they pay a price. I saw a documentary on the Russian space program and they lost hundreds of people. WARNING, it's not for the faint of heart.
