I heard Tom Clancy uses the "voice control" as a method to eavesdrop on potential terrorists on US soil, is that true?

That IS true! Terrorists are using End War for tactical command training. You may also want to watch out for FEMA and their black plastic coffins. I hear the government is going to enforce martial law shortly before shipping Americans to concentration camps. So, yeah... Tom Clancy End War is the devil.

I love this. It's actually one of the best RTS games that I've played in a long time. I will be buying it some time.

I havent got a chance to play the demo yet but i was in the beta over the summer. from what i could tell the voice control then was superb and is probably only better a couple months later. My main problem with the beta was how long it took to get into a match. I dont know if they have fixed that for the final build, or if it wasnt a problem just the times i was trying to find games. But this will definately be a download when i get to my 360

been testing for about 3 months and honestly it could've been better. RTS's on a console just really don't work, except Civ:Rev. It has potential and there will be some that will like it, but all in all, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say 5,(mainly for the voice command, good innovation there)

The Highlander was a documentary, and the events happened in real time.

was also in the beta. didn't enjoy it too much, but that's a product of the genre not this specific game, i suppose.
it all just turns into RUSHRUSHRUSHRUSH within 2 minutes. i know a lot of folks enjoy that sort of thing, and that's cool, but it doesn't suit me so much. ahh well.
i'll give the demo a try and see if it feels any better than it did over the summer.

I was a part of the beta and it was really a fun game...when ever you could find a match :/. The voice control works very well and the game looks pretty good too. The two complaints I had for the game was there was no tutorial on the game (though there is one online) and the artillery was way to powerful. If they did some tweaks to balance the power out, the game is going to be great.

I participated in the private beta over the summer and the game then was awesome. The demo that is out now is pretty much the final build with improved graphics and game play balance. I actually did not like the contents of this new demo because Ubi gives you a campaign level that ends in 2:30 minutes. The only thing worth playing is the 1 vs 1 or 1 vs AI.
The one thing that Ubi really messed up on is not allowing a co-op game mode in the demo. They were the best matches where you played 2 vs 2 and actually got a friend involved. It's like going into battle with a comrade and took the game a whole new level.

So, X3F guys (specifically Dustin and Richard) who have played Halo Wars, which RTS is more intuitive or easier to control... Halo Wars or Endwar?
You guys have previously described Halo Wars as "disturbingly intuitive". Which control scheme do you guys prefer?

Right now, I'm inclined to say Halo Wars works better.
I like the voice controls in EndWar, but I do not like the camera control. It bugs me that I can't send the camera wherever I want. I guess the SitRep is supposed to take the place of that, but then I'm just watching dots on a map instead of badass military conquest. Without the SitRep, it's very hard to remember where your units are and which one is which.
Like if you have two gunship units, it can be hard to remember which one you sent where. That could easily just be getting used to a different kind of RTS though.
Also, as far as I can tell, there is no voice command for ordering your units to use their special abilities (minefield, UAV, etc).
Halo Wars definitely 'clicked' with me a lot faster, but maybe that's just because it's more traditional. Both games have potential but I'm leaning toward Halo Wars. I dig sci-fi and Halo though, so take that into account.

Thanks Richard!
I'm more of a traditional RTS guy myself, and of course I loves me some Halo, but I'm really interested in this new concept and I can't wait to play it later.
Thanks again for the input!

I was part of the Beta, and this game sucks, it's confusing as hell to learn and it's not nearly as fun to just pick up and play like Command & Conquer, The voice command does work good but that is the only good point i can give about this game, after trying it I won't even download the demo, can't waste the space on my hard drive

GREAT game! voice commands are flawless; it IS NOT a rush game; and there is another aspect to it that is not in the public beta that makes it even better. great community building around the game, too.
there's definitely a learning curve and if you just start with the public beta keep in mind a lot of the people you'll play have been in the private and VIP beta. just ask and they'll give you pointers and show you some things. give it a try and see for yourself.

The beta rocked, but this demo doesn't do the game justice.

This game is amazing. You must go into the settings:
1. Turn on "Standard" Voice control in settings
2. Go through the Voice Control tutorial
3. Game on

While the voice control works well for most situations I thought it was annoying have to specifically tell every unit to attack bravo when commanding a large scale assault.

actually you can just say unit 1 plus unit (insert number) plus unit (insert number) attack bravo. Work's fine for me. Or if you want all of a certain type of unit just press up

I turned the game to standard, and i freaking love this game. Commands are sooo fluid. Takes awhile to learn but once you do everything is almost instant. You can even mix it with the 360 controller. I recommend this game highly to RTS fans
