Shhhh: PLAYSTATION is now PlayStation

You can finally pull the cotton out of your ears (and please throw it away, that stuff's been in there forever). The keen eyes over at PS3 Fanboy noticed that the latest PS3 firmware update added support for not only Flash 9, but a softer voice as well, replacing "PLAYSTATION" with the less obnoxious "PlayStation" when referring to the console's online service and store.

It's unknown if this will be reflected across the ~~PLAYSTATION~~ PlayStation brand, but for now both our virtual ears and shift keys welcome the change. And while we're on the subject of welcome changes, if you could stop poking us with pointy sticks sometime soon, that would be great too. Thanks.

You're....you're new to Joystiq aren't you? Saying first is a quick way to get called names like...boogerface and smelly.

I like to read failblog.org and when you click the comments there its rediculose. About 100+ usless "first, second, third" and other random comments before you can actually find a comment talking about what was actually posted. Makes me appriciate The comments here at joystiq so much more, becuase we only have "first" type posts like once every few days and only by 1 idiot

Ah, give him a break. He's relatively new, and it looks like this is the only time he tried it (horribly unsuccessfully, I might add).

Do it again though, Chris, and you will unleash the full taunting that is the Joystiq.

Holy shit, I take that back - I just looked at your history again Chris, and you've been a member since '06. I guess that I was fooled by the fact that you've only posted 10 times, and I assumed that it said '08.

Whoa...did I miss something? It said support for Flash 9?! I've been so waiting for that. Now I can watch Hulu on my PS3 browser. And some other flash 9 sites.

Yep. It's a solid update.

On the PS3 2.5 at least, the System Settings Menu still has a "About PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3)".

It is funny that Flash 10 was released on October 15th. Supporting Flash 9 days before the next version came out... nice. Now they have to play catchup again.

IMO, PlayStation looks much better than PLAYSTATION or Playstation...
A nice useless change.
