Yup. I bought The Sims 1 and a ton of expansions, but you can sure as hell bet I'll be skipping this one if they tack ridiculous DRM on.

*JOYSTIQ WTF Didn't we learn our lesson from the hummingbird ad??? Your Best Buy ad had just as many problems as the bird did. I enjoy your site and am all for you guys advertising and making money, but this is insane. I can't even view an article without the ad popping up, clicking the skip commercial button a million times, and then going back and trying again. PLEASE FIX IT*

Yeah it's pretty bad, unfortunately they wouldn't put these ads out there if they didn't work. Kind of like how 1,000,000 penis enlargement spams will generate a few sales.

They got rid of the hummingbird after everyone bitched about it, hopefully enough people will bitch about this one so it can get removed. It's annoying as hell to visit this site when these kind of ads are up.

Because I'm at work where I test things on Internet Explorer. Should we have to use a certain browser with add-ons just to make a site function properly?

Well, it is a much safer way to browse. Virus-carrying ads can't infect you if you kill them with Adblock and NoScript.

Haha, I've been using IE for years and have yet to come across a "Virus-carrying Ad".

Shouldn't you actually be working instead of checking out gaming websites? There are other websites that'll allow you to test your IE without a hummingbird ad.

I enjoy having no ads.

Ever.

Anyone recall how long it took for The Sims 1 or 2 to come out on consoles after their PC releases?

It took a little over three years for The Sims to hit Playstation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube, and a little over a year for The Sims 2 to reach Playstation 2 and maybe the others, not to sure which other consoles it released on.

Wasn't really the same game though. Sort of like how there were two versions of Splinter Cell double agent.

Thx Jeremy... this is one I don't mind waiting for.

@Haggard- I'm sure it'll be 100% different. I'm just not willing to upgrade my PC for The Sims, you know?

I wouldn't have fought a franchise like the sims would be fun and controllable on the consoles. I would like someone to tell me if the console versions of sims 1 & 2 where easy to control, considering the limited buttons on the controllers and the many icons on the menu's.

You forgot to mention that this pre-sale is only available for US and Canada customers... :( Regards from a disappointed Spanish Sims fan.
