Oh my god. I really liked this game and at five dollars it was a steal, but with this patch and online play, they just dramatically increased its replay. I only play this with family "nephews and nieces" But with online play, I'm gonna be playing this a hell of a lot more.

Why did you put quotes around nephews and nieces?
That is far too creepy.

Because in all honesty, I wouldn't play the game much. They're the ones that usually play the bowling game so I put more emphasis on them then on me. There's something magical about being under 13 that makes you impervious to such tedious games.

My only complaint about this game...which makes it difficult to play for me is holding down the shoulder button for spin (anyone have any tips?). I guess I got used to Wii bowling where you just throw the damn thing.

I got this game when it was on sale too. It's pretty fun. I think I was a little under halfway unlocking everything. Then I sold my old PS3 and bought a new one. I backed up my data of course but then the game save for this game didn't transfer. I haven't played it since then. Trophies will bring me back!

Question: Anybody have any tips on throwing strikes?? I can't consistently throw them. It's pretty frustrating. I'm lucky to get 2-3 in a game.

I got it for $5 also and well worth the money. I like it better than Wii bowling and now trophies will make it even more fun to play.

It's a great game I should be playing more often. I'm always afraid someone is going to "Wii have problem" moment with that game and my TV. I always have people turn 90 degrees to the TV Screen just in case.

FAIL - I hate the fact that all the trophies can only be achieved online.

Agreed.

And when the hell is this site going to fix its posting system? I still get "you've been sent an email" messages 75% of the time even though I have a password. Wouldn't be so bad but the email never freaking shows up anyway.....

Second only to PAIN in the Worst PSN Title Ever stakes. Crap controls (esp. spinning), cringworthily cliched characters, and a bowling action that feels completely detached from the visual and aural experience. And why is it that when I throw the ball down hard it still looks like it goes down the track slower than an octogenarian on a zimmer frame?

I'll download it because it's free, but - like when I bought it originally - I think I'll get pi$$ed off with it within half an hour and go back to Wii Sports Bowling. At least that is fun and quick.

Yah...because Wii controls are not crap (in fact they are non existent! Huzzah!), the characters look like PlayMobil rejects and you truly feel you are there with those HD graphics and great sound effects.

Kspraydad, the Wii controls are not that much different to HVB - a combination of button pressing and hand movement. So what if you just hit a button to aim on Wii instead of twisting your wrist seconds before you throw - are either realistic? At least you can add spin on the Wii as you throw, with a more realistic (than HVB) physical movement*. With HVB, the spin controls are plain hit and miss - you, er, just hit a button, in effect! And the lag between HVB throw and on-screen action is an age.

As for Wii characters, I don't care. At least they are not lousy social and racial stereotypes with a stupendously dumb and annoying voiceover.

I'd happily give up the HD and music for a game which, after I have thrown the ball hard, doesn't look like it's travelling an inch above the track at a speed my gran could beat on her zimmer frame. They cannot even get the pin fall looking as good as it does on the Wii. And what is it with the ball appearing to move at angles, not curves?

Don't get me wrong: I love my PS3 and most of my PSN games (woohoo for Last Guy, WipEout HD and many others). But I truly think HVB is diabolically bad. When I have friends over, they ALWAYS choose Wii bowling over HVB. Even the PS3 owners.

* But like on the Wii, I can also bowl HVB sitting down and without using a realistic bowling action.

Oh bugger. I got that "you've been sent an email" message, which usually means you'll never get an email and your message is lost for all of eternity (as has happened three times today already). Then the last message shows up straight after I lose it...

The system is still a fail.

I bought this game when it came out, but I haven't played it much lately, so I'm glad to hear that Trophy support is coming out, yet as someone who prefers offline single- or multiplayer and can't stand online multiplayer, I really don't like how not only are there Trophies specific to online, but ALL of them are specific to online.

Speaking of online multiplayer, I had the LBP beta for a short time, and I found it really annoying that "Play Online" was the default, huge button when you selected a level, and you always had to go down and choose "Play alone" or whatever.

Hopefully they run it on sale in a month or two again. At $5 I would have purchased it right now, $10 not so much.

Am I the only one having trouble with the silver and gold trophies. I have over 25 wins, over 150 strikes, and over 5000 pins knocked down. It still won't give me the trophies.

Is there an update I´m missing?

I live in Europe, and bought the game on the US store, could that be the problem?

I did the same with "Pain" and i worked out fine, got trophies and everything.

Can some one please help?
