According to internet chatter, a teaser trailer for 2K Marin's sequel to the critically acclaimed shooter has been discovered. CVG is reporting that a teaser for the upcoming sequel unlocks within the menus of the PlayStation 3 version when the game is completed. The trailer opens with a title card that reads "Atlantic Ocean" and pans away from a Big Daddy stuffed animal being held by, what looks like, a grown up Little Sister as she looks off into the water. Pillars then begin to form around her and the title screen reveals the name "Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams."
Joystiq has contacted 2K Games for confirmation on the game and trailer.

Actually, this game will be an XBLA and PS3 arcade game. You play as a stationary rocket launcher turret and shoot as many splicers as you can while they walk by. You loose points if you hit a little sister and automatically die if you hit a big daddy. Fun!

Can't say I felt like I *needed* a sequel to such a great game, that said I'm sure I'll be interested in it when the time comes.

As long as it's not a timed PS3 exclusive like Bioshock was on the 360 then ported to the PS3. It better be released on both systems at the same time!

@ xenocidic:
How do you figure it could possibly be a timed 360 exclusive at all if it was revealed on the PS3 version of the game? It'll be a simultaneous launch for sure.

Interesting. I was expecting a prequel (based during the full brunt of the Ryan/Fontaine war) but a sequel is just as good. If it's half as good as the original then it'll be amazing.

very interesting trailer. looks like Bioshock 2 will take place after the original game instead of taking place during the whole civil war before the first game. guess they could be leaving that storyline to the movie.
Either way i can't wait. hope it's only a year away.

Nah let the PS3 fan boys wait for it again, they are more than welcome to the 360's table scraps to Improve their lack luster "library".
Please Sony for the Love of God come out with a good game that hasn't been on the 360 first, and don't say MGS I thought it was a great movie, but hardly a game

Those aren't pillars, they're buildings. Manhattan?

Technically they are pillars that represent buildings.

Can't wait. I hope the pre-order bonus this time is a stuffed Big Daddy like in the trailer. That would be sweet.

Looks like we have a new trailer to keep watching till we can come up with any ideas about what it means ala Bungie's "Keep it Clean"

meh. As far as I'm concerned Bioshock is one of those games that wrapped up quite nicely and doesn't need a sequel - just like how it's complete rubbish how they're going to make a Blade Runner sequel.

I was really hoping it would be a prequel, I would love to see Rapture in all it's glory. Oh well, can't wait, regardless.

You'll be happy to know Bioshock 2 is, in fact, a prequel.

i can't wait to dive back into rapture again! although I don't really feel bioshock needed to be a series, I hope they don't screw this one up.

In my opinion, this is gonna be another Deus Ex Invisible War. Sure it will be an alright game, but won't do the original any sort of justice.

The blue butterfly on the Bioshock2 sign at the end looked significant to me. Must be there for a reason.
