Indeed.

I wonder if this will support custom soundtracks like the original did.

Last good GTA game? Way better than 4 imo.

I have to agree. Obviously the spit shine n' polish on GTAIV blows it away in many regards, but I just really enjoyed San Andreas so much more through and through.

They took alot of fun things out of 4, like the jetpack, bikes, jet pack, parachutes etc. Also, I wanted more customization...more clothes, more tattoos, more haircuts.

Yep, and I don't know why, but a handful of people came out of the woodwork to call me a douche, which I'm fine with, after I said that I'd miss being able to customize cars.

So sue me, I like pimping out a crappy little hatchback with rims, hydraulics, nitros, and parking it in my garage.

Safehouses were almost wholly pointless in GTAIV, outside of being able to start/save from somewhere convenient.

Sniffle...

Since they got rid of being able to buy safe houses, there's absolutely nothing to spend money on. I've bought all the clothes, guns and hotdogs I can and I still have an endless supply of money left. It's pointless.

The game, whilst looking better and being more realistic, lacks those "omg look what I just did" moments SA had.

Tom summed it up pretty well. Part of GTA's brilliance was its slightly madcap gameplay, yet it was still varied and serious enough to stay intrigueing. While San Andreas' writing felt a little padded out in some ways, I preferred the story to GTA4's.

Not saying 4 had a bad story (it was pretty good), I just enjoyed the previous one more.

This is a nice add to originals lineup. But, what about the "episodic" content that we know nothing about.

I couldn't stand all that nonsense with working out and such. GTA:SA drove me away with that crap.

Working out, for the most part, was never requisite or even a remotely substantial part of the game.

My Carl was a stringbean the whole game through, it didn't matter.

you only had to workout for a little bit of story and if you wanted a certain girlfriend. i kept my carl in shape by fighting people i got into accidents with and running cross the state. SA is the best but i really like VC and VC stories. gta4 is great, i just hope they follow with expanding on it like last gen

"i guess i just wanted an explanation on what an xbox original is..."

thats easy. Its a game that was on the original x-box and can now be downloaded from the xbla marketplace to be stored on your 360's hard drive. However, no achievements or extra features are included.

They have other games on originals like halo & jade empire to name a few.

They're quickly running out of $5 games to charge $15 dollars for. They'd better slow down the pace, otherwise they'll be forced to offer us games that would be a decent value at $15, like Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

The Platinum Hits version of this for XBOX runs $19.99 brand new. I think $15 is not too bad of a deal. I might get this just because my copy of San Andreas is all scratched up.

I am currently playing GTA3 on the PC and I was thinking the exact same thing- I love that game! (VC & SA too)

I haven't played 4 yet, I bought it on launch day and it is still sealed on top of my Xbox- I'll get around to it some day I'm sure. I've waited so long now I may as well just play it on PC in a month...

I downloaded the pc version but unfortunately my wired 360 pad doesn't work and that game is AWFUl with mouse and keyboard, so I'll gladly drop $15 for this.

Are you kidding? I find these games to be way better with KB & mouse. I use MMB for brake/reverse and right click for acceleration- which is weird, but I started doing that in VC so you could fully control the motorcycles. I mapped W & S to lean forward/back then you aren't missing any buttons. I use Q for look left and R for look right and mapped E to Action. :P

One of the only games I do controls remapping- but I agree the out of the box controls are kinda wonky.

I didn't like SA, I found it more insulting than wacky but what really pissed me off were the controls in the Ps2.

GTA IV is still my favorite. I still remember the days when I played GTA I and Carmageddon wacky and stupid fun but back in the day it was all about SkyRoads and Raptor,F*ck yeah.

Now that I’m sure you could buy the collection for the Ps2 for just 30$ or less.

I already have the Xbox triple pack.

The controls between the games are an absolute mess though. GTA3/VC/SA all have different schemes. Makes going from something like GTA3 to SA very tough. You have to relearn brand new controls. A little ridiculous.

...someone is very proud of their TV and wants everyone to know it. I agree, though, it does look crappy on newer televisions. I tried to play the original Fable and it drove me absolutely nuts. Had to plug the old XBOX in and give it a whirl on the old telly.

THIS IS THE WORST IDEA EVAR!!!

I hope this game comes to life, jumps out of your TV and dies in a fire. Then its smoldering remains can fertilize a tree which I will cut down and turn into toilet paper.

When using backwards compatibility on the 360 you have to switch the console to the proper resolution the game supports. Most Xbox games only support 640x480. This will fix most of the problems you're encountering.

It better include Hot Coffee, not because it's good gameplay or anything, but because it's a legendary part of the game's mystique. Otherwise I'm sticking with my PC version.
