According to internet murmurings, those who complete the PlayStation 3 version of BioShock are not only awarded the satisfaction of having caught up with their Xbox 360 and PC peers, but a brief teaser trailer for the franchise's next installment. The game, dubbed "Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams," appears to take place sometime after the original -- and somewhere along the Atlantic coast. Check out the video (from N4G user, "TheWho") after the break!
We've contacted 2K Games for confirmation and further information.
the worst part is all of those games are probably going to launch in the same 3 holiday months. Damn why do games never come out when I'm not in school during the summer.
Also, don't forget Alan Wake. Splinter Cell Conviction looks terrible based on what we saw last (all I want is a high-def chaos theory)
I don't think it's a matter of a running streak - I think it's just the industry expanding and more money and talent being pumped into it. 2010 will be just as awesome if not more so.
I really hope that this trend keeps up honestly, even though it will kill my wallet due to starvation. Just the thought of the industry moving forward so much makes me all giddy inside though.
A lot of those are high caliber, high cost, games. Makes you wonder why some analysts keep throwing out the scare that all systems are going to go the way of the Wii and be cheap and ugly for a wider audience.
If anything this list shows that game companies aren't forgetting about the hardcore market.
Looking forward to it of course, will choose a platform when it comes out depending on what is most convenient for me, but am I alone in that I could seriously do without the subtitle? Just 'Bioshock 2' would have been nice, 'Sea of Dreams' is just annoying and cliche, not everything needs a subtitle, System Shock 2 for instance...
(Assuming you beat the first one and got the 'good' ending, where *SPOILERS* you save the little sisters and make it to the surface where you grow old and they are around your bed when you die or however it went)
The story involves one of the 'newest' little sisters(as in, one of the last little girls to be made into a little sister) who was also the first in a new 'program' where the connection between her and her big daddy was strengthened, thus increasing the power of her big daddy and the amount of adam she could gather. Being one of the youngest girls, she doesn't remember much about Rapture, whereas the others remember quite a lot. After 'Jack' dies, and the older little sisters grow older and begin to forget about Rapture and start to live normal lives, this one girl cannot break off her connection with her big daddy (who would have still been in (the destroyed?) Rapture. The girl constantly has nightmares/dreams (SEA OF DREAMS) about the extra procedures and experiments she went through and to fully understand them she travels out to where the entrance of Rapture was (Jack did not reveal the location of the entrance, but she found out in an old diary of his).
The game starts with you (the last little girl) decending back into Rapture, to figure out what happened after Jack left.
We have to remember that Rapture was a hell of a lot bigger than just the places we visited in the first game, so there is a lot of locations that would have been untouched and not effected by the events of the first game. Since quite a bit of time has gone by, the splicers left will have been mutanted even more, the remaining big daddies will have gone mad over the loss of their little sisters and so on.
I stopped reading when you said "where the connection between her and HER big daddy was strengthened"... There's already a plot hole right there, there's no such thing as "her Big Daddy", Little Sisters are protected by Big Daddies in general, not specifically.
What's that? Tenants moving out? Lower your asking rent and the second they move back in, raise them to the max! Profits mean more elevator shafts! I curtsy to you Yoot Saito.
I find it odd that this trailer has only just surfaced, even though it's been out on the PS3 for a while now. Nice surprise for those patient PS3 owners who waited for this game on their console of choice.
