Call of Duty: World at War beta updated today

The Call of Duty: World at War beta has been updated. On the official forums, Treyarch developer "JD_2020" has introduced "some Hardcore playlists," including a Search and Destroy playlist. More importantly, the level cap has been raised to 24, giving players access to new weapons, challenges and perks. Additionally, some (but not all) of the bug fixes should be in this patch, with more expected as the beta goes on.

Kudos to Treyarch for granting new features to the beta while it goes on. Despite a few noted caveats, we're still enjoying the multiplayer. Speaking of which, we've got 5 beta codes left to give out this afternoon, so enter here if you still need one.

Is it just me or does "World at War" look slightly worse graphically than "Modern Warfare". Especially in that Gamestop commercial.

It's not you. I've been playing the beta. I think Treyarch is going for a grittier look, but as a result the textures seem muddier than CoD4 to me. The disclaimer says these are earlier builds, so maybe the retail version is cleaner.

How do you register for it? it says activision username already exists and i know that the usernames i did dont b.c they were insanely long but if anynoe has the beta could ci have it?

Does this update happen like usual games when you boot it up? It didn't do it for me. It's hard to be patient this game is so much better than a lot of people think cause it's not IW.

Ech, I wish they just gave them out like it happened with LBP.Sure it does kill the whole idea of "beta" but at least the majority of people who asked for seemed to have gotten one afaik.

I really feel like playing it.

Erm...They are giving them out. You just have to register at callofduty.com an then they email it to you within an hour...

yeah it would be nice if they let everyone in. Ive got some friends that want to play with but the haven't gotten in. Its pretty fun and the graphics are really good. They are just as good as modern warfare. Sometimes they seem a little more detailed.

Maybe you should EDIT the "has been updated" to "will be updated", cause it's not at the moment.

i just came from live, i didn't see any update

So I checked my email and saw one from Call of Duty... then I read that the code was for the 360. D'oh!

(I only have a PS3)

There is now DL just go in and play.

yeh i am having the same problem as rhubs i dont seem to be getting the beta cade and i have pre-ordered and i have also signed up to callofduty.com

I am to callofduty.com is saying there is already a screen name but i had my friend go on his account and he searched it and there is nothing under my username if anyone would spare a beta code i'd be so thankful

i noticed this update around 12:00AM ET last night
pretty siked get to check out some other perks, if only douche bags stopped usin juggernaut i'd be happy

you have to wait 12-24 hours on a business day. if i recall right th 18th was a saturday. be patient

I have been waiting one week still no bata code can any one help me out!!!!
